Have you tried replacing the bulb? I'd give that a shot first. As for mine, I've had it for about 5yrs without any problems. I like the fact that it heats up the chassis as well as the engine.

Made my own from a vacuum flask for a fraction of the price. No wonder the company no longer is trading!
