Exclamation Genesis wheels??

I recently bought a second hand CEN Genesis. Unfortunately the tyres are split and the wheels have seen better days. Any idea if I can put a smaller hex adaptor on this truck. It currently has a 23mm hex I think. Was thinkin of puttin smaller, lighter wheels and tyres on too but not sure yet.

If you want replacmement tires of the same exact same size, the you would probably have to order from CEN. For awhile, it looked at first that the Traxxas Revo was going to go the way of the 23mm hex, but then re-verted to 17mm - this affected the market. For awhile, and you still may be able to find, the "40 series, 23mm hex drive rims." I know Pro-Line made them for awhile, and so did Integy.

I have a CEN GSR 5.0 with 23mm hex - I use a Pro-Line Wabash rim and a "40 series) Bow-Tie wheel. It is a smaller diamater overall, especially that of the Genesis. However, it performs very well, traction wise, and looks slightly awkard vs. it size and the vehicle they are mounted to. Pro-Line would also be much more built and well balanced than the original CEN tires. All depends on your surface, naturally.

Hope this helps.

Thats brilliant. Thanks very much for your help. Would a 17mm hex adaptor fit on the genesis? I thinks its the .46 model if thats helpful?

Surprisingly, yes. A standard 17mm hex will fit. The only detail you will have to pay attention to is that the pin is a 3.0mm pin (larger than normal). Now you could simply get the 17mm hex and pin that go on CEN Matrix R2. Another option would be to get any 17mm hex, carefully drill out the hole in it to 3.0mm, and then take your old pin from the 23mm hex and cut it down so it's flush on the outsides of your new 17mm hex.

Then there you have it - access to a whole new, and much bigger, world of tires of different sizes, treads, etc.

I just got the new Pro-Line 40 Series Big Joes mounted on Tech 5 Monster Truck wheels. Very good craftsmanship put into building these tires, and they are 17mm!!

Not a problem - just glad to help out someone with something I have a little bit of working knowledge of.
