I wrote out a list of which parts I would need to upgrade my B4 to a FT B4.1 and it would cost more to buy the individual parts ($40 more at the same online shop) than it would to buy the kit. Buy the kit, get a bunch of extra spares thrown in and save the $40 for practice time at your local track

That's what I'm going to do at least...

In a short answer, sell the ones you got cheap and get new, thats what I did.

V2 shock bodies
v2 slipper spring
v2 slipper plates(with new pads)
Bleeder shock caps
Rear chassis plate
Transmision case
Diff (the sc10 ball diff)
10x16mm bearings x2
CVA set
New FT rear hubs larger bearing and crush tube
Alum shock bushings
Steel center drilled axle (b4)
Rear arm mounts

Depending on how new your older FT kits are youll need:
new steering spindles
new rear body/wing mounts
steering rack
Thicker motor plate

Also ALL of the chassis parts: front and rear arms/chassis/ towers etc are all new molds and are a newer material.

Ok im confused now. You guys are listing a total parts that it would take to turn a B4/T4 into the 4.1 version. All I want to know is can I just get away with changing complete T4.1 transmission. Will it fit in my T4?

Do you want to use the gear diff?? It is rather maintenance free but it doesnt perform as well as the ball diff.

You would need:
Complete gear diff
10x16mm bearings x2
sc10 tranny case
sc10 rear chassis plate

For you guys wanting to upgrade your b4 to a b4.1 keep in mind that the factory team b4.1 still uses a ball diff. The rtr version uses the gear diff. If you look at the shock upgrade alone though, is $80 for all 4 shocks complete. I plan on waiting till I have the money for a complete new kit. To expensive, in my opinion, just to upgrade parts.

Default Black Grease in CVA's

Didn’t AE call for using black grease when building CVD’s? I know they don’t call for it in CVA’s does anyone know why this is?

Just got up my first buggy! The B4.1 FT Right now running a 13.5 with no tweaking available on the esc and it's a blast. My Tekin RS will be here in a few days so I can squeeze some power out of it.
Are there any tips, tricks or mods guys do to the B4?
