Default Futaba 3PKS problem

I have a new 3PKS and when I use it, the screen starts to fade after a minute or so. If I turn it off and leave it for a while (half hour to an hour), it's right as rain, but then starts fading again fairly quickly.
Anyone else had this issue?
I figured it may be the screen overheating, but it only takes a minute or so to start doing this.
Makes no difference what batteries are in it.
I've e-mail Futaba, but not had a response yet.
It's also not quite as easy as dropping it back to the shop, as there isn't a local shop that stocks Futaba, so I bought it from the US but live in New Zealand.

Mine (older 3PK) doesn't fade, I guess playing with the contrast didn't help any? Sounds like the LCD screen faulty. Prob going to have to wait and hear back from Futaba, maybe they'll work since you're in NZ. It might be time to get a cheap radio to use as a backup until this gets resolved.

Yeah, I may have to do that. Kind of a pain as the radio is only about 3 months old, and has only been used a handful of times.
I ahve an old 3PK that I gave to my son. I may have to share that with him (assuming we aren't in the same race).
The contrast does nothing, with it set on 10 as it fades, I can just see the screen if I look at it on a weird angle, in low light! ha ha

Default A-Main rocks

I'd like to give HUGE props to A-Main Hobbies. I sent the controller back to them to get looked at under warranty, and they sent me a new replacement within a day after receiving it.
Top joint in my opinion.
Still don't know what the problem was.

Was dealing with Dennis in Customer Support

I think you need to contact Great Planes for parts though. I'm outside of the US, so can't use them.

Good luck
