Nitrohouse is having a, 10% off everything, sale today.
The discount code, "father2010", is on the Nitrohouse
home page.
This means anyone that wants a stock JL.21 can buy
it for under $158 today.
I also got to try out my Clockwork JL.21 and the Ofna T-5
glow plug in my on-road DM-1 last night. Damn, this engine
hauls ars in the DM-1's and the T-plug ran great in this engine.
The temp never dropped much all night and neither did the humidity,
so I left the T-5 plug in it. I wanted to try the colder T-6 plug, but
never got the chance. I had to take some time getting a few break-in
tanks in the ole C6, before it gets sent off to Neal for an insane
Clockwork Racing Engines "on-road" mod.

Just an update, I got to run the JL at the Newton, Ks dirt oval track this weekend. The Clockworks JL ran awesome (only had 4 tanks on it before racing
), still haven't leaned on it real hard but it is making tons of power. Wasn't a big turnout for the race but I did get to race against Doug Gaut (one of the developers of the Losi latemodel!). The track couldn't hold nearly all the power the JL was making, but I did finish second behind Doug on the same lap. I think I could have giving him a run (I led for awhile), but lap traffic was not my friend
I'm planning on going to Joplin, MO this weekend for the first time and try and give the JL another workout
I'll let everyone know how I do.

Great engine is right, I have 3, all still run good, will do 10+ mins, with jp-3 or ttr 2035, must be a tad lean and tuned on the money, with smooth driving, all stock, forget about modding

Break-In is going very well so far. On tank 5 still really rich with the head blocked with aluminum heat tape and its temping 210 nice and steady. Leaning an hour abit at time and its picking up speed very easy.
The lightened cooling head is no issue and does look very nice. Once I am finished with this quart...hopefully I can start to get a little race tune on it.

I have a gallon and a half on mine and with the 15+ some 21's iv owned its by far the best for the buck. I had to pull it cause of a torn carb boot. Running it in truggy never had an issue with it whatsoever(xept for torn boot, and its on diff carb i use that takes inserts). to be honest i would have been happy with it if i were to have spent $250 on it. the cheap tag on it is the only thing cheap about the jl

easy mod and you can run inserts on the stock carb ! been running great since feb! 1/2inch counter sunk bit go nice and slow, test fit as u go with insert o-rings off ....once it fits snug light sanding w/ ultra fine bit sandpaper clean, add o-rings easy as pie

I read or seen you or somebody was doing this and considered. I ended up using an sh carb since i had several with inserts sealed and ready. I just gotta dig up another with a good boot. nice job i see you done tho

I am on tank 10 and its running good with the aluminum tape on the head still. Peaks out around 230ish with 100-150ft burst wide open now. When would you guys consider it broke in enough to pull the tape off and start doing a race tune at the track?

IMO i think your good to go .....pre heat before every start ......mine has arround 5 gal and is showing no signs of slop in rod or wear on wrist pin, all thanks to my competition heat engine warmer ..

came in about 230ish and was pulling strong
pulled the tape off and will possibly do a race tune at the track this weekend
