Aldus,

Nice step by step with the pictures.
Are you into miniature modeling also? Cool!
Thanks for showing us the process you use to lay your paint schemes.
The red fades on the roof, are you re taping over the
base coat of paint you first layed?
I missed that step in your pictures.
Also, what are the colors that you used.
It looks real nice.

Thanks again
Doorman

p.s. How the baby doing?

Nice Z, what tape are you using? are you cutting it out once its on the body? I tried that but I didn't like the score lines, you don't seem to have any though.

Thanks doorman and Mike... you haven't miss that step.. actually I missed it.... (I've forgotten to take a pic then..)
These days I only trying very hard to build model cars....even I m not very good at it... but really can't leave the house for a whole day to run RC.....

For the painting step...
First, I paint the whole shell with surface primer, then after sanding it until smooth, I paint white color all over the shell.
Next is taping, I put a layer of tap on one side of the shell, then draw the scheme on the tape, then take the tape onto a piece of PC sheet, which is some left over from a shell, for drawing another side of the scheme. Then cut the both side of the tape solely, and put the first masking on, which is the white region. Paint the pink area, then mask those I want to put fading on, then paint it.
This is the only method after I've tried many times that can make the left and right as balance as it can. please refer to the new attached pic....
Certainly, I have to spray 6~7 layers of glossy clear coating on the shell, sand it again till smooth, then polish it with Tamiya rubbing compound..
After all, paint the details like the grills, lights, and so.

I use T.O.P. masking tape, yellow in color, just like those 18mm Tamiya tape, but it is 55mm width... and 50m in a roll, real value....

For paint, I put Gunzy Mr. color on mini-z shells, it is not acylic, and real stink... but it held on plastice really firm. I have tried Parma faskolor before, but it peel off only after a few light crush....

My little girl just learned to turn around, i.e. back towards the celling, and she keeps doing it and looks really happy.... For me, I have to take 150% care on her towards this hobby.........

Very nice Aldus.
Thanks for taking the time to share that.
You are using masking tape.
I would of never guessed that.

Take care!
