How did you build the front end? What settings? I also have a Serpent S120 tbar car and I was taking steering out of it, and I like steering. Remember there is a lot to change (experiment with) on the tbar itself. PM me if you would like to discuss the car in more detail.

hi Jon,
i had a s120 for a while, and with 2xpink front/rear, the stock setup had an onpower push for me as well. (at Beltran's, concrete sprayed with sugar and/or vht)

for me i needed to stiffen the tbar to better rotation. the s120 is peculiar in that you can stiffen the tbar (other cars you swap tbars) by moving the restraint, but be careful to just change the length of the bending beam (shorter is stiffer) but don't move the point where they contact the tbar.

i tried moving the contact along the tbar and it made weird things happen, it couples up tbar bending and torsion, so if the tbar bends, the roll stiffness increases, making more unsettled over a bump in a corner.
for me, it worked best when the contact to the tbar was at the fwd pivot.

i never tried putting contact at the aft pivot, but that might work too if you really want to stiffen it up a lot. but i doubt that will be necessary.

What is the deal with these Xceed tires I see selling on Amain Hobbies? I went to their website, and in some of the descriptions... It said there was 3 different kind of tires? Jap, Italian, and US. I see that they have tires that are coded with colors and look like Jacos... Or unless they ARE Jacos? Then I see some of the tires that have (Carpet) in the name, and some dont. But there isnt any literature to explain the differences...

Ive been out of onroad racing the last few years. I notice Jaco tires when up some... You could get any pair of Jaco tires for $9.99... now they are like $11 for fronts and $11.50 for rears..

Where does everyone get their tires?

I did notice Stormer is still selling them for $10.. So maybe its just an Amain price?

Default Xceed tires

I have been curious about those xceed tires too so I finally broke down and ordered a set. I run at a carpet track with low to medium traction so I ordered lightweight carpet compound for front and rear. Got soft rear and medium front.

I am happy with these tires. They grip well, gave me a little more steering and I can hold really tight lines with them. The rear wheel has a similar offset to CRC rears. The front wheels hold the bearings better than jacos. Also, the wheels are durable. They are just flexable enough so they flex instead of crack.

I would order them again.

I was wondering what other voltage boosters are out now since the TQ and Novak boosters have been out. I am getting back in to 12th scale racing and I am looking for something better and smaller than the Novak.

there 3 different rims & foams

The 'Tyre 1/12 Front/Rear's US' are the Jaco rim/foam

The '1/12 front/rear ITA' are a white rim which is softer the Pro version

The '1/12 front/rear Pro' is lighter than ITA rim and is opaque

as for foam types I have no idea on the Xceed types

I'm using the Pro's in Medium front with soft rear and they are working for me in the UK on a green to medium grip carpet. I'm not using additive on them either.

I use the xceeds, I use hard fronts and soft rears..I have yet to try the med fronts..The 3 compounds makes tire selection really EZ..no color codes.. Rims are very strong..

+1 for the RC Dynamics booster. Not the cheapest but definitely the best. I wrote a review of it at http://www.carsrcracing.co.uk/?p=183. So good I've just ordered a second one for another car.

Default Front Tires Coning

I am running a GEN XL. Prior to last Saturday, I had been running CRC tires only. Running Black/FR Grey/R. I decided to try Jaco tires of the same color. The reason I tried the Jacos is CRC tires are not available in the area and I have to order them. The track carries Jaco only. I ran CRC for the first Qualifier and hit 41 laps (TQ). Decided to try the Jaco tires and dropped to 40 laps in the 2nd Qualifier and 40 laps in the main. TQ'd and won. After the main I noticed that the Jaco black front tires had coned real bad. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
