what lipo specs should i be running for my associated B4 offroad buggy 2WD.
e.g. 2 cell 5000 mah 30c 7.4V.
What does 30c mean ?
do i need to match the battery to my speedy controller and motor?

cheers

G'day mate, you are serious about coming back!!

The "C" rating is it's max discharge rate in amps, as a function of it's capacity. i.e. 5000@30C = 5ah (it's capicity) X 30(times it's capicity) = 150A (surge)

Basically higher C batteries have less internal resistance, and so don't drop volts as you pull the trigger, and go faster as a result.

as for gear, use what ya got. You won't over discharge the Lipos in a 5/six minute race, so no need for a lipo cutout.

Come down, plent of people to pick brains on going from the nim to the lipossss.

Cheers

I'm running an IP5000, 40C, and two Active Reactor 5000, 40C. Lots of people are running SMC 5000 50C and they seem to be great.

The Active Reactor from Dandenong is a great battery also, and it's cheap. hence me having 2.

Like the nim's, they do go off a bit over time. mine are not as potent as they were 18 months ago but I figure that's not a bad service life.

Cheers

when you say dandenong are you referring to Hobby man. What sort of prices we talking for the active reactor, and how does that compare to SMC.

cheers
