It shouldnt matter if its a new clutch, a new pipe, a new fuel blend, or a new engine....the fact remains that the current products are killer and whatever you have is as good or better than any similar product on the market, regardless of the brand.

Whatever Ron has up his sleeve...its going to be killer...

BTW- I know a secret

P3 plug is a good choice, or WERKS #5 or#6

The B5 is ready for 30% out of the box

Not familiar with the sh pipes at all. The Jp1 I have tried and got ok results. I would run the JP1 intil you can get a WERKS 2013 or 2057 pipe.

You made a good choice You will love this engine

I'm not going to get into the specifics of what we are releasing until...friday lol but we just like every other manufacturer are continualy going to be releasing new products be they clutches, pipes, engines, plugs or what have you. In your case specifically having just bought a B5 & 2013 I would say that even if we were to release a new engine you have absolutely no reason to be flaming. If anything you should be happy, you just picked up what is arguably one of the best perfoming engine packages on the planet for what is quite frankly realy a steal! The B5 to me represents the perfect general purpose engine for use in buggy and truggy, it's one motor that works great in both applications! It has the torque to easily push around a truggy, the top end to fly in a buggy and the fuel efficiency to be competitive in racing both and it only cost $199!

The vast majority of people running our B5 you will find actualy have 2,3 or even in one case that I know of 5 engines! Why be because they are so affordable it just makes sence to have a spare or one in each of your vehicles. This motor is just a steal and people recognize that. It is also as I mentioned one of the best general purpose engines that I know of. So having said that I can honestly tell you that we will be producing the B5 for a looong time because frankly I'm not sure how to make a better low cost, general purpose engine than we already have with it! So again it's a glass half full, glass half empty type scenario!

Hello, I have been an OS guy for a LONG time and I got another V spec a few months ago and ran a little over 2 gallons and its showing alot of rod, crank pin wear already... Not very happy!
Well I'm going to test the water over here and get a B5 to check it out.... Will my JP 4 pipe work with this B5 engine, we have med size tracks in my area.

Ignore my previous posts about the jp4 + b5 not being a good match. Once my needle imbalance was tuned out, any remaining issues, however benign to my actual racing, are gone. During previous racing, the combo has worked quite well. There is plenty of low end grunt to rape the short take-offs in our track and enough top-end to clear our monsterous car flinging tripple. I don't know exactly how much fuel economy this combo gets since I've never taken it to flame out on fuel, but I know I've got 8+ minutes easy on multiple mains where there was no advantage to try to take it to 10+. There's always lots of fuel left in the tank on 7 minute pits.

I would really stick with the Werks pipes, 2013 for truggy and 2057 for buggy. Ron has designed this engine around his pipes. The JP pipes are known for not so good gas mileage I wouldn't use one on a v-spec either.

While I don't disagree with the suggestion of using a werks pipe, I don't know why people say that the jp pipes get bad economy -- the jp-4 got excellent economy on my v-spec. I have taken it 10+ min on my v-spec in a main on small tracks and never had any issues pushing out to 8+ minutes on the v-spec on large outdoor tracks either.

Did you have bad luck with a JP pipe for fuel economy?

I too had also heard that the JP-4 was bad for fuel economy, both on the internet and by word of mouth, but I talked with one of their factory team drivers about it and he said that the jp-4 should get better, not worse, economy than the rest of the jp line. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised that my experience agrees with that.

I have not had any problems getting good milage with the JP4 pipe on my V spec... At our indoor track (small N tight) I was able best most guys with a runtime of 13 -13.30. Most guys could not make 13 min.. On the outdoor tracks I seem to get right around 9 mins. The overall power from the JP4 was good on my Vspec all around... I hope it works on my new B5 like it did on my OS... All I can do is try....
