Well if you new to thins sport them it sounds like you are on the right track and have the hardest part down pat which is driving! So congrats on that, engines and tuning seemto be an area that people at times realy struggle with. Just try to break it down to the basics like I did with my tuning system and try to keep in mind what I wrote above. You will find that you as a driver have a lot of influence over how your engine performs in the track. Your finger has control o er how much fuel you use but as I mentioned also over how hot your engine runs. So now your seeing that you can in essence "adjust" a slightly rich or slightyl lean motor by adapting your driving style. However you can never realy change a too low idle with your finger, so set this right and to an extent you can work around the rest!

First race on my B5 today (RC8T with a FT 2035)- ran great...came off at 245 after the first qual so l richened the top by an hour and we were perfect. Ran great all day - no flames and plenty of power.

After the main the guy that was pitting for me asked if it was a .21 or a .28 - when i said it was a .21 he was surprised and said that it rips....when I told him that the 2013 gives it some more bottom he was like

Can't wait to get the 2013 and give 'er another run.

I was able to finish break-in and get a race tune on my B5 w\2057 in the buggy. Awesome combo in the buggy. I was getting 11+ min a tank. Now i can get started breaking in the truggy with the B5 and 2013!

Many thanks to you Ron and the entire Werks crew!

I'm running a B5 and a 2013 in my buggy, and I absolutely love this combo. The 2057 will give more top end and better run time? I really love how it is now, but I may buy a 2057 to try too.

I had a Werks .28 B7 years back and never could believe how stupid fast that engine was. Two of my friends, collectively, put nearly 20 gallons on
2 different Werks .21 B7 Pro's during that same time and those engines
were fast. I have been looking around a bit for a different engine for
my new, upcoming, debut into the truggy ranks. I have a Losi 8T 2.0
on its way and while my GRP 21 tuned buggy engine isn't horrible for my
tastes in a truggy (I like the smooth electric-like feel and I'm not a
"punched" type of driver) I certainly could use some more punch so I'm
thinking that it's time to give Werks a shot again.

Sounds like its time to order me up one of these B5/2013 combos real soon.

Not sure if it has or hasnt been asked, so here goes. I have a b7Pro and just bought a b5(about to start break in), my question is, would the balanced and ramp crank from the b7 fit the b5 and if so would it offer any advantages or not really be worth any performance gains at all?

I am not sure if the B5 is a long or short stroke engine.
The '08 B7 pro is a long stroke and I believe the earlier B7's are a bit shorter on the stroke.

So.....
It depends on the stroke of your B7 pro if it will fit or not.

As for performance increase,
I think you might gain a little power from the b7 pro crank in the upper rpm ranges.

I am sure that Ron will chime in on this and correct me if I am wrong.

I just want to thank you for this great engine and super support!

That break in guide is just so great!

Breaked in my first B5 this weekend and iam in love!!

No flame outs yet! and sweet idle! 12 tanks.. Not race tuned, but 10 minutes is no problem!

Thanks again!

Werks-wise it was pretty good. Not the mileage I'm used to getting, with the 3000 ft straight they put in.... but my mill was pretty close to perfect. I won the B main by almost a lap. I started the A main in 14th and lasted 25 minutes til my front end came undone (my fault... should have checked something that i didn't) but I'd moved into 10th place by then, had a good rhythm... still wound up with 11th place.

I'm gonna want a new one soon... it's still great, but it's not as insane as when it was newer. It still runs like a Rolex, though. I didn't do anything special for the very short break in, I've never heated it, or anything. I'm pretty hard on engines, actually. And I've race at 2 tracks with 130+foot straights. Still holding up quite nicely. I also didn't put much of a tune on it.... I'm way more into reliability than top speed. I did see my friend's Alpha (he just got sponsored) and it's at the 1.5 gallon mark.... he pulled EVERYONE down the very long straight at the Nitro Pit, no matter what engine they had. But my B5 was acting similarly at the 1.5 gallon mark. I doubt he'll get as many gallons out of it. I believe the strightaway to be around the 150-160 foot range. Long enough to totally top out, with a dip and a double at the end that NOBODY downsided. Just land and turn right. The last 40 feet or so was airborne. I should have put a 17 tooth bell on just for fun

Not sure where I wound up points wise, but I think I cracked the top 15. I started the day 19th. Not too bad for a fat guy
