Default 1350g weight limit

I know it's only been a year since we moved to 1425g, but is AARCMCC or VORTEC thinking about the 1350g limit EFRA/BRCA has gone to for 2010 (and assuming IFMAR will move to also)?

I don't think so. Then again IFMAR could spring a surprise.

The key thing to note with EFRA / BRCA is the rules around the batteries which enables them to get to the 1350g weight limit.

Gee it would cost me a bit in light weight parts to reach this limit!

I hope not, 1425g is a sensible weight, the cars can balance no problems and not a tonne of weight needs to be added. I think I can get my T3 close to 1350g and balance it but what about the other chassis like a TC5. It would be pretty hard to get one to balance at 1350g.

Remember Europe raced a lot of 5cell in mod, has 1350 something to do with the old 5cell class.

No , Im prety sure it has to do with a lower max capacity allowed for their li-po's.

Oh ok, well i for one would vote to keep the 1425g limit, it is a good compromise for all people. I added about 50grams for balance and weight to my t3 which is fine. I was cranky with the old weight limit, I added over 125 grams which was just ridiculous, that was with my TC-5.

One racer cut a file in half and glued that to his battery to make the weight, the old weight was seriously ridiculous.

the BRCA/EFRA rules were designed for lipo, sure the EFRA dimensions of lipo's are slightly different than ROAR but there are plenty of 5000+ mah batteries on the approved list.

i need to add almost 100g to my T3 to make 1425g with a 5200 50C battery. I'm sure the majority of other cars can make the weight otherwise they wouldn't make the rule.

Hey guys don't get to carried away with the 1350 grams weight, after all it is only a MINIMUM weight not the be all and end all of a race day.
Is your car easier to set up, does it make that much diffence in lap times.
Just a few thoughts.

EXACTLY ! Minimum only, no need to fret over it. I personally don't notice the when an extra 50grams or so are added to the car.
I think a change of body make is more noticeable IMO.
