The New Werks B5 .21 Racing Engine
#2236
Ron, thanks for the instructions on breaking in the motor. I've finished 8 tanks and have temps around 220F. This thing RIPS!!!
We've got a pretty tight track and the electric convo's are no match for the low end power the B5 provides.
Thanks Ron!!!

On the 10 Minute main just under a half tank. Although I did not time a whole tank I would say it could go 13 min easy.

It looks twice as good. My son ran his brand new 2057 today. We were running 7 min qualifiers and he had over a half tank of fuel left. Took some pretty could crashes and not a single dent. I run the trinity extech engine with 2013 pipe from trinity and yes is looks like a golf ball pipe now.

Hi all B5 users,
After reading almost 120 pages of this tread I am sold on this engine.
Ron, what a support on your side. WOW This is as it should be with all products, it takes one dedicated person from a company to get the sales going.
My brother in law and I are new to this hobby, started on Christmas day with some shi..(bad 1/10 buggy codor PRO) than it was Duratrax raze for me and lx1 for him. He runs picco.28 I run LRP.28. We love both of those cars. Tho I think that LRP is overkill for the buggy. Those are the bashers. Now he put together hyper 9 and I did mp9. He has the B5 installed ad I got him the 2013 for his nameday. He did not get to start his B5 yet. I am getting the B5 today and deciding on 2013 0r 2057. It is hard competition here, need advice on my pipe from you guys. I read that the 2013 has more ripping power on the bottom, so will the 2057 compensate for that on the top? We will have same engine I was trying to go with different pipe. But don't want to be left behind.
THNX for you input.

after reading all the pages of this thread myself, I've also decided to purchase the B5 for my first truggy, D8T. I also purchased the werks carbon clutch kit to try. Hope its noob friendly
I would also like to try some Werks fuel but the only place I've found to buy is amain. Is there a list of hobbyshops that carry the stuff? My closest shop is an hour away at least so I may just order online anyway.

You cant go wrong with either the 2013 or the 2057. They are both top performers on the B5. They just have different characteristics. 2013 has insane snap and punch on the bottom all they way to greattop end and great runtime. The 2057 has a smoother, less explosive bottom and powerful midrange and a bit more top end and runtime than the 2013. So its just depends on what you like. I would say to most the 2013 for truggy is the way to go. and the 2057 is great for buggy where you dont need as much bottom and it also gives a littlem ore runtime. I go back and forth between 2013 and 2057 in buggy depending on track layout and surface.
But I have tried about 13 different pipes on the B5 and no other pipes perform as well and give the runtime like these 2, But thats not surprising seeing as these pipes were designed for these engines

Hi
I am new to this side of RC and new to this engine. I too have bought the B5 and 2057 pipe. I was wondering what is the extender? does it come with the pipe i bought?
Any pics for easy reference with the extender and without the extender?
Thanks

This is the Werks Racing 2057 One Piece Tuned Pipe. This pipe set includes not only the pipe, manifold, gaskets and springs, but also a pipe extender, allowing you to tailor the power delivery of the pipe for a variety of track conditions by changing the overall length of the pipe.
Without the extender (short position), the 2057 provides smoother bottom end power delivery and increased top end when compared to the 2013. With the extender installed (long position), the bottom end power delivery of the pipe is increased, with mid range and top end similar to that of the 2013 with a slight increase in runtime. It is recommended that the pipe be run in the short position for large flowing tracks, and in the long position for smaller or more technical tracks.
