Default ESC or Motor problem?

I have a SPX Stock Spec and an Express motorsports duo 2 17.5 motor. The servo works fine but when you apply any throtle a high pitch noise begins. The motor gets warm fast and doesnt even turn. Does anyone know the problem?

Thanks,
Hayden

Well, we really need more info to give the most educated answer. Has the system ever worked? When did it stop working, anything happen recently that made it stop working? If it has never run; have you programmed the ESC to your radio? Sure that all of your connections are correct?

If you have nearly full batt voltage at the esc/motor leads, it would be a real good guess that its the motor - you've lost a phase, have a shorted winding or something thats terminal with teh motor.

If its new, take it back and let them deal with the prob. If its used, you may have just bought a bad motor.
