I also asked what fuel you were using and you told me the a-main fuel that is made in Australia (which has no affiliation with A-main hobbies here in the US). I told you that there have been a lot of reports about bearing failures with other brands of engines with that fuel including a rather lengthy thread that was on here (and I'm on an iPhone so it's a little difficult to search and post the link but maybe someone on a pc might not mind doing so). So... I suggested that you might want to consider switching fuel brands that you use. I also offered to sell you replacement parts at what was in essence below dealer cost to get you back up and running which I think is a pretty fair offer. It sounds like you are choosing not to take me up on the offer which is unfortunate. Having said that though the offer stands and if you decide down the road that you want to get your motor back up and running the just drop me a line.

all you gotta do is go to the search box and type 'amain fuel australia'
you can see what's going on there. supermoderator has closed the threads but you can read.
By the very nature of Werks' last post, you have the owner of the company answering all of our stupid bullshit questions at 11pm at night. good luck getting that out of anybody else.
still lovin my b5

There are two different B7 engines, the B5 and the B7-Pro. I'm assuming that you are asking about the B7-Pro. The B7-Pro is a full blown racing engne, lightened and epoxy filled crank with tungstene counter weights, ceramic bearing etc. etc. etc. Now comparing the two the B7-Pro has less bottom end but more mid and top end for days. I highly doubt that you will tnx a faster engine when it comes to mid/top. This engine is ideal for large flowing tracks or for more Euro style off-road tracks. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

Well I ant gonna lie to ya bro but I ran my mill with the 7mm insert from werks(came with mill) at say 80% tune on the street(still waitin for outside season) then the GRP 6mm insert. I can see the difference between the two at this tune, only to get better with the race tune natrually. I'm not gonna pull your chain, I have been doing the nitro scene for a whille so I can tell when a mill is in the sweet spot without a track( I tune for performance not longevity) and the GRP 6mm insert has a good gain on time over the 7mm insert. Now take to mind, I am running a 2053 pipe( known for milage, not performance) This year I am after LONG runtimes not tire shredding performance(been down that road, cost too much, that dont win races) also with this type of bottom end, thinking of going the steel flywheel route on a eight 2.o RR. The fuel savings is awesome, but if you are willing to go with the less bottom end you will not be dissapointed. I look at it like this, hey dang you cleared that tripple NICE but where you at the pits oh, well im still on the track makin laps feel me? I have no reason to believe that a Odonells 97T plug Odonells 30% race fuel and 2053 pipe coupled with a GRP 6mm insert with carefull driving should give me 12 minutes of tank time
Hey dishoap, the only reducer sizes that I would recommend that you use would be the 6.5mm and the 6.0mm (stock is 7mm). Going any smaller than this just makes it a little "critical" shall we say on tune. The smaller the reducer seemingly the smaller the margin for error (between too rich and too lean) seems to be with tuning. We've ran down to 5.5mm and it can be done but as mentioned you need to be up on the tune, anything smaller than this (such as the 5mm that you were asking about) I would not even bother with.
Regarding availability of our reducers, A-main has our 6.0 and 6.5 for the new 2010 carb. Give them a few days to get them up on the site and you should be good to go.

Ron

Oh forgot to say he is running an 053 pipe as well. It has enough power obviously but I could use some help on run time. The 053 is burning too much fuel. He cant get near 10 min.

I'm sorry to hear that but to be totaly correct what I told you was that bearings are questionable when it comes to warranty claims as to start with they are wear and tear items. I also mentioned that to date we have had absolutely no reports of any bearing failures in any way on the B5. Flip back through the last 1300+ posts and you will note that not a single comment from anyone reporting a bearing failure.

it was a great little engine but why should i have to pay to fix i used model fuel in engine so what is the prob what brand it is if u look at any engine retailer it never says u must run a certain fuel anyhow i have other engine what have run for 48plus litres and still running strong on the same fuel u should reseach the fuel yourself and have alook at i could even send u some to trial after all your engine let go cause of poor quality bearings as i have had the engine looked over by some well know engine modders in australia and 3 of them come up with the same result in fact pm me your address and ile send it back to u for testing sorry if i have ticked u off alittle ron but just speakin facts cheers jase
hmmm... 1+1=2...lol
but if you feel fit to keep that fuel and use your other engine thats fine... I'm not trying to tell you what to do... But I don't beleive in going on someones thread and bashing a product that has had no issues...

Run the 2057 Without the extender.......
On the bearing thing.... Its easy to blame WERKS becasue he is on this thread any easy to get a hold of, but there are people having failures with that fuel. NO one else had bearing problems and this engine has been out for 6 months or so and probrably thousands of them out there being used.
So with that fuel having complaints with engine issues and you being the only one, I think its unfair to blame WERKS for that. And In my opinion its pretty good of Ron to offer parts at a discount.... JUst my opinion

Great thanks for the help. I need to detune the engine and go with a smaller insert. Its too powerful for my son right now and its not even race tuned yet. Also going steal flywheel. Good advice here.
Ron thanks. Yeh I was looking for them but couldn't find them. Is it going to be a new product for AMAIN. I will pick up the 6.0 and the 6.5 and stay away from the 5.0. Thanks for the advice. I new going to small would cause to much hassle.

Not a problem, let me know what you think once you get the chance to see it in action! Also let me know your thoughts on the B5 once you get a bit of rnning on yours.
