No to balancing every time and balancing your tires is 100% worth the time and your vehicles will thank you in the end....having an attitude like " seems like a waste of time " never gets you anywhere fast......realize some are smarter then others and try something new.

geejay balancers are cheap...pick one up one day and play with it...see what you come up with....Worst case scenario you wasted 20$. [

Where do you get this from?

I saw $20 mentioned; which balancer was $20 and was a good quality piece?

I'm pretty sure he didn't mean it that literally.

Does it work well or should I pick up something like the Losi unit? I'm guessing the Dubro was a prop balancer?

The Dubro is what I use, and it works well.. The others to me seem like the load on the bearing could cause a false. But, I am sure they are fine..

I was thinking that may be an issue that you wouldnt see with a prop balancer.

the Dubro is imo more accurate then the Hudy/losi/dyna style based on the sheer design and the fact some dont have the grease removed from the bearing's and they are super inaccurate out of the box....yes you can strip all the grease and make the bearing's silky smooth but the design is where i see the problem.

+1 on the Dubro prop balancer. I got mine on ebay for less than $25 shipped.

Only had to ever balance one set of tires, and thats only because it was an older set of tires and had the old style foams, the truggy looked like it was trying to fly away on the straights as the wheels were bouncing so bad, other than that, all my other aka's i can just mount straight up and rev it up on the box and they never bounce a mm.

Just FYI stuff:

You'll need a 17mm hub to use the Dubro prop balancer for buggy and truggy wheels. The zero offset truggy wheels want to lean over so make sure the silicon tube is tight. Replace it if it gets loose, or just use a collar similar to what you see on your linkage.

The Losi/Dynamite units use 17mm hexes. Hudy units use interchangeable arms for all types of wheels.

Balancing isn't a perfect science, but it's MUCH better than not doing it at all. You will notice improved traction and longer lasting parts. Don't believe me? Just pick up your ride with one hand and hit the gas with the other. Hold on tight...lol. Convulsions mean you should balance.
