I use a xr3i and am very happy with it. It is the same as the xs3 but it uses crystals. I think the reason you see allot of them for sale is because the market is flooded with them. On any given race day at the tracks I go to the new xr3i and xs3 seem to be the most used radio. I have yet to have a problem with it and it has almost every option of a high doallar radio. It even has the high speed transit like the more expensive radios. Batteries last a long time and it is light weight wich for me is important because who wants to hold a heavy radio for a 45 minute main. JR hit a home run with these new radio's you couldn't ask for any more.

I happen to own both the MX3 in my HPI savage, and the XS3. I use the MX3 just for playing around with, and the XS3 for racing in my other R/C's primarily because of the synthensized part. Both have almost identical features, and programming is easy on both. The only major difference is "feel" The MX3 feels small in the grip compaired to the XS3. Overall if I had to choose one it would be the XS3, if feels comfortible and the layout is pretty darn good. The price of the RX's is pretty resonable as well. Plastics wise both are not the tip top plastis such as the
futaba 3PJ/PK's but those cost more. I see no reason why that should be a consideration anyway since both could take a normal drop without breaking.
Possibly you are seeing a sell off of XS3's due to the new Futaba synthesized comming out any day now. IF you can pick up a XS3 for a good price I'd recommend it!

No problems for me with the XS3. I race three cars with it and so far it's done everything its needed to do. I've recently dropped in futaba 9451 digital servos in all my cars and have switched over to jr's fast frame rate. No more glitches with the graphite cars

Can't go wrong with futaba radios either. I'd compare features and the price of receivers, you'll need same brand if you want to use the radio's fast frame option.

I don't have experience with real highend radio's like the M8 on the silver Futaba, but I do have 2 XS3's and I race 2 cars with one radio all night and love it. It is easy to work with and I love the no crystal feature. It is pretty inexpensive.

I took my nephew racing and we forgot his radio, so I bought a XS3 that has been used one night for 5 races. I would be willing to sell it if you are interested, I don't use it and hate to just let it sit here. Not to mention each radio I beleive handles upto 6 cars, so I don't have a use for extra radios.

Regardless, I think you will be very happy with it.

Ok, dumb question, but .. what's HRS??

Hi there. I have two xs3 for sale at the moment. They are a great radio. The only reason I'm selling is because all my mates have been getting ready to race trucks and they all come with 27mhz radio's. We have run out of channals.

I race every couple of weeks and have never had a problem with glitching at all. I have been using hitec 925mg in my rc10gt and xxx4 servo's and a digital ko in my b4. Not a problem at all.

They are just so easy to swap between channals. No cystals. And if you work out what 6 sets of cystals are worth they are well priced.

I'll be in brisbane on thursday till monday. If you want i'll bring it up and you can try it before you buy. You can email me at [email protected] It's only 6 months old. Price is neg
