Yeah I'm working closely with them on their website in the coming weeks, and what content we absolutely have to have on there.

Also I'm looking for a better data section on the products.

More information on the different softwares

Easy contact info and FAQ's on warranty procedures and items that MUST be included when mailed in like receipts, warranty cards, and also things I don't need like the esc wired up and fan's, program cards etc.

Working on better instruction manuals for future products and re-writing the old ones and making them available for download.

Easier navigation to things like downloads.

You get the idea

Hey guys, got a quick question about the V3 series motors. I am trying to find out what is the motor's mechanical timing fully retarded and fully advanced? (I have a 17.5 and a 10.5)

Thanks in advance.

Default HW or SP Programmer

I was having the same dilemma within the last few months and asking whether to buy the HW box since it was cheaper and I could find it or wait and get the SP box.

From a business stand point and can see the SP side of it. Liability plays a part in this where you can't endorse the product even though it looks the same because you don't and can't service the product. I can also see the consumer side where it may come down to cost and what works.

I think this is a teachable moment for SP in where when coming out with new products should make it very proprietary so this does not happen again. At the same time just because this is a SP thread does not mean that fellow racers/hobby enthusiasts can't give their experience and what they were able to use and make work without catching flak for it. Maybe the next time this happens again SP should immediately come out with a disclaimer.
*While this product in alot of ways resembles our product we cannot service nor give technical support to this item.*

My remedy was fixed where I held out and was able to get an SP box second hand simply because I like to have product brand matches, not alot of people feel this same way and we should be able to exchange ideas and experiences here without being broadsided by our fellow threadsters.

Just my .02 cents.

I don't care where the person is from on this planet, advertising, promoting and/or asking for support on a non-Speed Passion product in this thread, is straight up STUPIDITY. "That's REAL!"

I'm assuming these same people are not getting the level of support from the HW, VG, etc thread, so they came here in desperate need. Screw that, "You get what you paid for!".

Speed Passion staff, stick to your guns and support your products and the end users that buy your products. Like they say here in America, "F.*.C.K. everything else!".

Beside what Adam said...technically, V3 motor does NOT retard the motor to NEGATIVE timing like brushed motor does...it was set @ 5 degree advance as a default setting, you can adjust the timing to 0 with no advantage or 10 degrees for full advantage over the build-in timing.

I have had the motor apart and measured it all. The timing marks are wrong.

The range of timing adjustment is 20 degrees, not 10. So -10/+10 from the default.

The default timing measures as a "true" 30deg advance. This is what many manufacturers would call "zero".
