Here is a vid of me racing my first heat at Bumps and Jumps with my Clockwork modded JL .21 w/JP-3. I stayed close to the leader and took the win when he spun out near the last corner.

Thanks. This engine is awesome! She runs like a raped ape and still comes off the track at 184*. I don't believe the engine is rich, it just runs cooler. My K9 in the summer heat would only run at 210* to 225*. My Clockwork JL .21 runs cooler and faster then my buddies (another modifier) RB shark 9, his engine is coming off at 240* to 260*. My runtime is still at about 9 1/2 minutes, Im finishing my heat races with 1/2 tank.

woO-hooOO I'm not sure where to start..but I'm incredibly happy ATM.
My Clocked JL .21 arrived yesterday so naturally, I was eager to get it mounted up, just so that I could hear it run ( it's -27˚C here ATM ). I mounted a JP-4 pipe, a Picco P5TC plug, M2C Adjustable 4 shoe Flywheel ( 0 weights installed ) and OD 30% fuel. Luckily for me, we own a car-wash in town so off I went at 12:30am to run a tank or two through it. I took my heat gun along and preheated the engine to over 200˚F, and it fired up right away. It idled without a hiccup, and kept idling without my involvement, without even a blip of the throttle..I was quite impressed to say the least.
After 10 minutes of straight idling, I was getting anxious and called Neal to tell him how impressed I am so far with the start of the first tank, we talked for a good 15 minutes, and the thing was still idling. We decided it was time to drive it so I hung up, went and grabbed my radio. I still had a tick under half a tank of fuel, but I still topped it up. I didn't have a huge area to run in, but I did have enough room to allow me to clamp down on it for short bursts. This engine is going to be fantastic..it can be smooth, and it can be an animal..it seems to do what you ask of it. If you smooth into the throttle, it's butter smooth, and if you crunch it, it spools up instantly and screams ! It has a nice crackle at idle, and just howls up top. It also idles down instantly..I wish I could run it on a track!!! I sure do like the idea of this custom fitted piston, it'll save me so much stress on the conrod and pin..not to mention fuel and break-in time!

It has plenty of bottom, and it feels like the midrange is going to be an very strong point, unfortunately, I can't test the top end, but I think it will get there plenty quick ! I feel that I might like this engine as much or even more than my Clocked Picco for racing..but only time will tell. What I can say for sure is that I'm very happy right now and couldn't sleep, so I had to post this!!! THANKS NEAL!!! I will likely order another as soon as I have the $$$

Awesome, glad to hear you are very happy with the JL .21, NitroFreakManho. The throttle is just as you stated, smooth if you want too, violent if you grab a handfull. I love the sound this engine makes when you blip the throttle when sitting on the starter box. So snappy! Neal does magic, I can't wait to crack her open next week at Motorama!
