I have a Kyosho TF6SP but it's very painful to adjust pinion/spur mesh on this car when running a 96t spur for 17.5 blinky.. It seems like a horrible error in design of the motor mount or maybe I'm doing something very wrong? Anyone else have problems? I don't see how I can adjust the mesh since the spur gear is in the way.

You have to loosen the top deck and pull the spur gear up out of the bulkhead to get to the screws. I know its a pain to do but when you run the small spur gears for 17.5 there is no getting around it.

I'm running a 96 yokomo spur with a 52 pinion in 17.5 blinky with Sorex 28's, HPI red inserts, and Yokomo 24mm wheels. With a motor fan I'm at 165 degrees after 6 minutes. Hope that helps so you don't have to "play" with the gearing to much as making changes is so difficult

I was able to set it, but man is it a pain.. truly frustrating.. no idea how they could have put this into production and sale to the public with this kind of error.

Anywho, the car is running now, performs quite well.
