Hello! I wonder if the Lipo cut-off is nccesary for 5 minutes? Becuse i sant find anything in my manual if there is built in cut off or how it is :S Can anyone help?
I am new to the lipo scene and i need some info about this esc when it runs with lipo.

This review says - 2nd page right above 3rd pic -
"It allows for adjustments of the drag brake, the brake frequency, the drive frequency and the low-voltage protection of the battery."
That implies the esc has an LVC and its adjustable. Unfortunately they don''t tell you how to.

I send a mail to Team orion themselves and this is what i got 
HI,
You can run it with a LiPo no problems as with any ESC. What you have to do is to immediately stop running the car as soon as you feel a drop in power. Or even better, make sure you never run the battery until it is empty.
If you want to turn ON the LiPo “cut-off” you need to buy the KO61018 USB adapter and software and change the setting inside the ESC.
Even with the cut-off system switched ON you still have to be careful with your LiPo.
The best cut-off system is you when you feel any drop in power.

So, IU guess what they're telling you is there is no way to activate or change the LVC without the additional "KO61018 USB adapter and software".
Is this additional equip/software expensive or is it even available?
Wonder if this is obvious in their advertising, but I'm betting its not.
Running lipos til you "feel a drop in power" is a receipe for damaging lipos. Thats pretty lame on Orion's part.

i wont probably not run low on the LiPo becuse i will only drive 5 minutes anyway. and in 5 minutes it shouldnt run out of power. so i should not be able to hurt the LiPo. But is it correct that lipo cut off is only IF you run low on power and shut off the power?

In a 5 min race, there ahsouldn't be any prob. You're prob using less than 200mah/minute as a guess. Check what goes back into your lipo on teh chareger and see what kind of mah/minute you get. Then you can know for sure what kind of time you're safe running.
The low voltage cutoff is just a setting in the esc. Once activated, it will interrupt power when lipo voltage falls to a set value. I don't know what that cutoff is set at, but default values are usually around 3v/cell so a 2S would hit the LVC at 6volts. As long as you're above that value, everything is normal. The actual voltage value may be adjustable as well. If the esc has profiles, the lvc, if activated, should be active across all profiles except one for NiMh. If you run NiMh, you run with no cutoff since voltage varies and there is really no minimum voltage for NiMh.
