These engines a screamers!! Plain and simple..... I race truggy and buggy and I have B5's in both and they are super quick on top and bottom,reliable and run cool. They never let me down in any race. I have had tried so many engines and the B5'S are awesome! I can not say one bad thing about them. For $200 you will NOT find better engine and even if you spend $300+ dollars the B5's are just as fast. I have 1 Vspec,2 sirio cl7b sti's, a plus 4 nova ,sirio extech2 .21 and a sirio extech2 .24 sitting on my shelf in my closet. And I can truly say they are all fast but powerband and reliability and cost the Werks is where it is at.......... for the price of a nova piston and sleeve you can just buy a whole new B5! lol lol.....

Forgot......tristyn,these engines Dont have the bearing and rod failures like some other engines do. The bearings in werks engines are xlnt quality and I have never had to replace a bearing in any of my many werks engines, also the rods last a lot longer too becasue of the piston sleeve design. The break in is quicker on these engines compared to nova's which doesnt put so much stress on the rod and other parts. In my experience the origional rod will last the life of the piston/sleeve. Which for me every werks engine I have had had got over 8 gallons. none of this buy it ,then 1-2 gallons later replace the rod and bearings stuff........pretty much break it in and run it.... and they last! And for power running the inside lines and clearing sets, YES they have a ton of power and in my opinion the 2013 and 2057 are the best pipes for this and the other werks engines. A lot of other pipes will work well,but these have everything, top,bottom,runtime. but these pipes were designed for these line of engines. I actually in my buggy I run carbon shoes and .9 springs and it is still exsplosive on the bottom!....andin the truggy I run 1.0 springs and alum shoes and it is Great! More than enough power on bottom and top. Actually the B5 has I think the most bottom of anything I have run in my truggy, Usually with other engines I would have to run 1.1 springs to get enough scoot off the bottom on the harder ,short run sets.

I'm curious about the B7 Pro now that I have these B5's. I really want a screamer and I found myself today NOT in the sweet spot of this motor quite a bit. It's sweet spot(s) are definitley sweet (lo and mid with respectable top), but I live in the upper register pinned. Granted my open track has a lot to do with this.

Is the B7 as nice a the B5 just different delivery? more mid to top delivery?

What pipe? This motor has plenty of top end. Would be interested to know if you were running the the recommended pipes?(2057/2013) But yes the B7 is ferocious on the top to answer your question.

The B7 is comparable to the RB WS7/WS9, if that helps. Untouchable top speed.

Mark, change your pipe!! The 2013 is the ticket. Both your buggy and truggy look great just change the pipes and you will be alot happier

Fresh on his 14th US National win last week at the first electric 1/8th Nationals I would like to congratulate Jeremy Kortz for taking the win again yesterday at the Toys for Tot's race in LA. Running against the likes of Drake and Truhe he was able to take the win with his Hyper 9 running a box stock $200 Werks B5 engine! Congrats Kortz!

The B5 has a ton of top end? Maybe its something in your setup,pipe choice, or gearing. Again, the B5 is as fast as anything out there and faster than most. Awesome job to Kortz!! Abviously the engine has got what it takes. It keeps getting awesome results with Kortz. And like werks said ,its a stock one just like the ones anyone can buy. Unlike a lot engine companies where team drivers have modded engines or special (team)things done to them. markhat what vehicle and setup are you running it in?(pipe,clutchbell etc...)

I'm using the Ofna 053, and in my buggy, the car feels really really good. Maybe even perfect. I may gear it one tooth up on the bell cuz the motor definitley has some mid to spare.

The truggy (D8T) however I am just pinned to the living hilt and I feel like I would do better in a B7. Some here make it sound like the B5 has "plenty" of top end. More "plenty" than a B7? My first impression is that a pipe could do a little magic to it, but completley change the delivery? In my truggy, again, pinned 90% of the time. I do realize that I will give up bottom. But for that remaining 10% of the track, I'de sacrafice it.

I'm not a stop and go driver into turns. Very wide sweeping pinned corners type. I do realize that once traction gets better that it may put a bigger load on the motor. But the 2 tracks I will take my truggy to most are very loamy and loose. This is why my motor is using everything.

Thanks for any help guys. I saw that the B7 has 2.75hp @ 38k vs. the 2.60hp @ 33k of the B5. Is this correct info? If so, that's another reason for the B7. I want a screamer!!

The B7 is ridiculous. So fast. A bit weak on bottom, but it revs to the moon. The B5 is the balance between the bottom end and top.
