so what should i do the pinion gear comes stock with the truck is a 11 and the truck seems pretty light. the motor does not seem to be getting hot, wouldnt that get hot before the speed control if it was gear or weight issues?

~ I doubt they had any intention of anyone running a 3.5 in it. that's like three times too much motor.
~ if the motor is drawing too much, the esc is the first thing that is going to get hot. the motor would only get hot after running for a bit.

You put a on road car drag motor in a 4x4 truck,The 8.5 ballistic would have been a wiser chocie.
