I say "YUK" to the friction shock.. but everything else looks pretty good under the hood

Wow I caught a shot in one of the pictures of the steering wheel and they even have all the pushputton switches on it.
The company I work for in Carpentersville llinois supplies those switches on the real F1 car. There are seven on each side AND the switches for the paddle shifter as well. They are off the production line that I am the Engineer for. We also supply the steering wheel switches for the new Audi R10 as well as several kill switches for NASCAR.

im a hamilton fan but dam that ferrari looks good. i do love ferrari but not the two current drivers. well i guess masa is ok. i will definitely get the f60.
i finaly got my low friction suspension ball set, man the suspension is way smoother. my original sus stuck and made noise. hopefuly ill get some better handling.

Hi everyone. We understand some people have been having problems getting their F104's to stay with the F103's on the track. We believe this is largely due to the narrower rear tires which is 10mm narrower. We have found that running the wider F103 rear tires makes quite a difference. But it makes the rear end much wider than the front.
So we have developed a set of option front axles for the F104 (and F103). This will allow you to widen the front end on the F104. So you will have the same width front and rear if you choose to run F103 rear tires. They will be machined from titanium for super light weight and strength. We estimate the price to be approximately $15 a pair and should be ready in the next few weeks.

I wonder if the airfoil ft lower suspension arms will add downforce to the front of the car or is it designed to direct the air under the chassis making the rear diffuser work better? Hmmmm
from the pics they look as if they would almost lift the ft end
any clarification? ideas?

Love that F60! But, I am a McLaren and Red Bull fan so I hope Tamiya comes out with those bodies by spring. Probably will depend on licencing rights though.

So I spent the afternoon shaking the 104 down on the carpet at MSI Raceway here in Detroit. Through trying different combos, I was able to find almost a full second from the first pack to the last. Tried a lot of different things and then combined changes to get a car that would rotate nicely in the corners, while at the same time was not on the ragged edge. I have not run on the carpet since the Trackside TCS race back in March,and I only raced once this summer, so I was shaking out the cobwebs. First impressions were pretty in line with the other posts on here. I started pretty much stock , and the car had a ton of grip, too much really, it was actually bogging in the corners and losing a lot of momentum. I changed over to the B compound foams and while it still had a lot of grip, it had enough slide that it wasnt losing as much speed. I had my 103 with me to do some back to back stuff, but I didnt realize that I had put a broken motor i the car, so that didnt last long. I ran a 55-56mm rollout as DJ suggested and it seemed to be pretty good, I wasnt runing my best motor, but the car still felt pretty quick.
Im not going to give up all the stuff that I tried, but suffice to say that minor adjustments can pay major dividends with this chassis.
I tried three different springs starting with the kit red, going up to a blue, and then settling on a yellow. Silver springs up front and a little stagger in ride height. I want to continue to try some different stuff to settle the tail down a bit. I haven't checked tire wear yet, but at first glance it doesnt look to be bad. Will report out when I get a chance to take a measurement.
But for a first run, with very little tuning, I was very happy, and I think shes got an easy half a second in her with little to no effort.

So I checked the tire wear, the stock foam is down about 1mm from where I started, and the B compound is down less than 1/2 a mm. Not bad for a day of running
I think I ran 3 packs today
I was pulling the car off after a few laps to make changes, so im not sure i ever did a full 5 minute run
