I picked up a go tec rb modded 3port,gen 5. Then I put a gen. 5.5 carb on it. I am using a dynamite 086 pipe and byrons 30% gen 2 nitro. The bottom is a little tame, the mid and top it screams. I know it will spank my 5-7 ports in stock form. What was funny the guy had a shim stack of.012mm! plus the 3 built in for .015mm total. And wondered why he felt it was lazy and guzzled fuel.He ran a half gallon through it. Since I am a beginner, actually for the series I got thrown in the sportsman class. My very first time racing a series and I do believe I finished in 8th place out of 20. I got 14 min 50 sec. tank time with it. On my engine I noticed it liked a very smooth throttle. No pull and go. The engine responded better this way also.I have never run a stock 3 port so I would imagine the top would fall off quickly as compared to the 5 and 7 port. But this engine has been perfect for me so far. I have a problem with whipping the ass end around with the other two engines. With this engine the bottom comes on very smooth [no whipping the ass around]then starts building up to screaming power.

yes, they are very under rated. the 3 port even modified is easy for me to control. I am using the #7 venturi. in my medium sized back yard I got 14 min50seconds run time. It doesn't like to have the throttle slammed. Which makes me learn to drive smooth. Use the ole throttle control, carry the speed into the corner. I love it because I don't spin it around coming out of the corners, yet can still do a triple jump. And your right it will keep up with or pass the other so called big name engines. I am not putting down any other engine at all. For me since I just started racing, this is my first season so to speak. I think the go-line of engines give you every thing you need. Price, performance right out of the box they are still very fast and you cannot beat the price. They last along time as long as you understand how to break them in and tune them. I see amain is starting to lower the price on the 3 port gen5.5. as soon as it gets down more I am thinking of picking one up and sending it to rb mods and get another one done up. I really wanted a mg66 but feel I need to have more drive time under my belt. since the summer season is almost done here I want to get onto another subject that I think a lot of us beginners really need. And that would be to ask the pro's. Most of the one's I know are very helpful. I learned car setup, tire selection, clutches for different conditions and engines-pipe combo's are more important then just lots of engine power. I bought a setup station and I think it has been one of my more smart decisions I have made. Also getting a handle on the shocks is important. But asking questions from the fast pro's is one of the biggest pluses. Remember they were once me,just starting out. Oh and bashing around is nothing like racing.

i loke the go range very much infact they are probably my first choice in motors for sure i have owned most motors on the market i still have my jx ninja which is anawsome motor but foe the price of one i can own close to 3 go techs and keep my buggy and truggy running all season with a back up to , i have been racing for a quiet some time and i still make stupid ass mistakes , lik lets say forgetting to carge a receiver pack and blowing your engine oh well ...

now day si find it hard to get mu 3 port back my brother has claimed it for him self

Hmm - bet I know what your doing for the next few days Matt.
Poor neighbours
Mine got an earfull today Just rebuilt my buggy for a three day event this weekend. Just wanted to make sure everything was all good, so put another couple of tanks through the 66 around my section and our cul-de-sac. NICE !!!! That motor sounds healthier every time I run it. I think it is very close to "animal" now It gets the replacement rod and the Answer Ceramics after this meeting, ready for our National Champs in about a months time. Roll on summertime

Had our first race at our new track on the weekend, and my GO powered, Massive Mods fuelled truggy set the fastest lap by about 5 sec over every other buggy/truggy there. (I didn't race my buggy on the weekend).

Check it out

Thats my Truggy landing on the second jump of a massive set of triples , Ended up clearing the triples later the same day. My 5 port is awesome
