CORALLY SWEEPS THE S.A State Titles
Super Stock
Rhys Marshall - 1st place
Darryl Khemlani - 2nd place & T.Q.
Stock
James Ainslie - 1st place & T.Q.
Alex Ilievski - 5th place
After locking in the T.Q spots in the touring car classes yesterday, Corally drivers Rhys Marshall, Darryl Khemlani and James Ainslie made it a clean sweep of both classes with the new PHI 09
In Super Stock it was a tightly fought battle between T.Q man Darryl and 2nd Qualifier Rhys Marshall. In the first final the win went to Darryl Khemlani with Rhys second however in the 2nd Final the results were flipped. This meant that it all came down to the last final which Rhys put in a solid drive after an early mistake to take 2nd with Darryl ending up behind Rhys which resulted with Rhys taking the win and becoming the 2009 S.A Super stock champion, well done Rhys for his win and Darryl for 2nd place and some entertaining driving.
In stock I was able to win 5 out of 6 Qualifiers and lock in the T.Q spot by Saturday night. In the finals I was able to win the first two finals and lock in the win and become the 2009 S.A Stock title holder. The 3rd final I decided to sit out and enjoy the win and watch and enjoy my fellow competitors duke it out for the remaining positions.
A great result for the team and the new PHI 09 at it’s first title event in Australia. The car is very consistent at being able to put in quick times with consistency results over 5 minute runs as low as .17sec
Photos to come soon,

Raced at the Hudy Xray Pro AM at Whalan yesterday, had some handling problems. Looking for some help.
Started day with fresh sorex 36
Main issue:
Understeer on corner entry (off power), switching to oversteer on power / corner exit. The on power oversteer become progressively worse at each race.
Also had some mild understeer mid corner.
Would appreciate any advice.

Shocks: 2nd inner hole on tower, outer hole on wishbone
Oil: 40wt (3 hole Tamiya)
Spring: 14 lbs
Camber link: Middle hole, top row on tower.
No sway bar
Toe out: 1.0 deg
Inboard toe out: 1.0 deg (1mm shims behind front couplers)
Camber 1.5 deg
Couplers: dot up
Wheelbase: middle
Downstops: 2.5mm
Spool
REAR
Shocks: 2nd inner hole on tower, middle hole on wishbone
Oil: 40wt (3 hole Tamiya)
Spring: 12 lbs
Camber link: Middle hole, top row on tower / outer hole on rear hub
No sway bar
Toe In: 2.0 deg
Camber 2.0 deg
Couplers: dot up
Wheelbase: short
Downstops: 3.0mm
Thanks, Alan

Alan,
I had the same problem at Templestowe which is very similar I have been told to Whalan - Huge amounts of grip.
I found that going harder springs and 50/40 weight oil fixed the issue. I was running 19lb Frt & 17lb rear springs on the 08PHI and when the track warmed up I went to 22 & 19 lb springs.
With a grippy track sometimes you have to try a few things outside your normal thought process. I would also suggest trying different droop settings. maybe 4.0 & 3.5

Makes sense ... in the memory bank for next time !
