He suggested going 2mm higher in the rear only. It is a foam tire, carpet setup, so traction will not be an issue.

OK EVO III guys, here is a good 19T carpet rubber setup.This is for Stockton Rc speedway and thats the track I am assuming your going to because it the only one in california right now.

Front:

Tamiya white
60W oil / 3 hole piston
middle hole on shock tower
6MM under camber link
middle hole for camber link
yellow sway bar
A/A blocks
stock spacer under front A block
2MM droop
1 degree toe out
-1 camber
5MM ride height
SOREX 28R's / HPI red
Rear

Tamiya blue
50W oil / 3 hole piston
3rd hole in on shock tower
2MM under camber link
middle hole for camber link
no sway bar
A/D blocks
no spacers under front blocks
3MM droop
-1 camber
5MM ride height
SOREX 24R's / HPI red
The car is stable with the Stratus 2.0, and more agressive with the Alpha.

This is a good setup. The bite comes up fairly quickly as the day progresses so make sure you make appropriate changes if needed. By the way this setup was from E.j Evans/Paul Paras so the setup is money.

itīs similar to the German Nats setup that we use.

changes are

Front:
no spacer under front A block
no toe in or out

Rear:
60W oil
2nd hole in on shock tower

same tires and inserts front and rear
Stratus 2.0 only

sometimes additional changes:
3 or 4mm shims under front camber link
no shims under rear camber link
-1,5 camber


how do you measure droop? lowest part of arm to the setup board or uprights to setup board. Difference is about 1mm rear.

im actually going to the carpet track in Gilroy. Hobby World to be exact. I ran my Evo III a long time ago in May. and forgot my set up.

i have a surikarn now..so things will be different.

how far is the stockton track from Fremont? or do you have a website.

I live in Newark/ Fremont.The distance is almost the same for both tracks.If you want a laid back enviorment,gilroy is the place.If you want where the racing is Competitive and the program is topnotch and the carpet is really good,then Go to stockton.I forgot about Gilroy,my mistake. When are you coming up?

Thats stocktons website.Personally I would go there.You can race friday night @ gilroy to help get your car dialed in then go to Stockton on saturday for real racing.Hope to see you there!

Neither if I'm not mistaken... it looks as if he is measuring droop by measuring the actual uptral of the chassis. This is fast becoming the "norm" for droop measurements. Reason being that it is realtive to the ride height and tires size as opposed to the conventional "goofy" way of measuring where you must use math to figure out how much droop adjustment needs to be made withy every run of the car.

dang dude.. id love to race both places.. but i cant. thats thanksgiving weekend. gotta spend time with SOME family.

wanna try out my Surikarn on carpet.. thats why ill just go to Gilroy...since ill probably only race carpet when i go up there.

Stockton sounds like fun. maybe ill swing by there next time in the bay.

Not too sure where you'd get a MIP tweak station here in Germany - I got mine from www.rccarinternational.com. They're in Holland but their prices are good!

With all the talk about the front one-way I thought for sure it stripped after the front started slipping. This morning I opened up the gearbox and found out it's the shaft notch of the bevel gear that stripped! Any suggestions on a fix other than keep replacing them (only 2 spares came with the kit...) THanks, Jeff
