SPEKTRUM LOSING ITS BINDING
#1
Hi,
Last week I had problems where both my receivers lost their binding. I assumed that as both went, then it must be a transmitter problem. I re-binded them and last night I had 2 heats with one of the receivers, and in my 3rd heat the same happened again. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be ?
Many thanks,

Hi,
Thanks for the tip, I cleaned out the receiver, re-binded it, but the same happened again. As it had happened to two receivers, I suspected it might be a transmitter problem. Anyone any clue as to what could be wrong ?

What transmitter and receivers are you having issues with and how long have you had them?

Hi Gary, I'm using the SR3000 ones which came with the transmitter. I've had the set a little over two years and never had a problem before. I'm hoping that someone can suggest something I hadn't thought of as I don't fancy sending it from England to USA for repair.

That sucks and sometimes things just happen. I had a Mamba Max ESC just quit on me in the middle of a run for no reason. it wasn't hot or jolted in any way that may have damaged it during that run. I decided to get a new losi Xcelorin system to replace it. It worked then i hooked it up to the computer to change the settings and when i hit the send button the thing craped out. It would power on but it wouldn't arm or register any input from the receiver. I sent it in to Horizon because it wasn't even a week old and they are replacing it. They didn't take very long to check it out determine it had an internal problem but the ESC was back ordered so i'm still waiting. I hope that you can get it figured out since your warranty is probably up and the process of sending it in is very time consuming. My plan was to spend all summer at the track to practice and try to reach the next level with my driving ability. Summer started 4 weeks ago and i haven't been to the track in 6 weeks.

Im having the same problem with my dx2.0. I have the standard receiver and one of the new 3 channel mini receivers and when I switch between my tc model and my truck model I lose the binding to both receivers. Have to rebind every time I run a different truck which sucks especially when my tc class runs and then the on road gearbox truck class runs and I have to break out the bind plugs real fast.

usually lost binding is because of its receiver exposed to static charge. and there is no exception that module do in away have its own problem.
open up the module case if u have the time. i've seen burned transistor and that causes this problem. as we all know, electronics life depend on luck most of the time.

hi mate, u are in luck, in horizon hobby in england are the best support u will get, i have sent so many of my spekky stuff to them.
go to thier website. contact number. speak to one of the service guys explain your problem and they will ask u to send with a contact address.
every item will be fixed for free even though u not the original owner.
they post quickly as well.
some times in the older transmitter like the 1st dx3r, people lost binding.

Hi,
Thanks for the help guys.
Here's an update, tonight I got smoke pouring out of the transmitter. Does this mean it's had it ? Should I still try Horizon UK ?
