I just picked up a brand new stock pro .28 off of ebay for $100 shipped. I think you can do an exchange with ae for around $125 or so + s/h

So I put my BB shocks together today, I used 30W front and rear, switched around on some springs. Im having a hard time figuring out how to set these up, I run on a flat track with a few small jumps. When I press down the front and rear, how much should it come back up? any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!

I would think you would set your ride height pretty close to stock with the arms being parallel. I think thats a good starting point for any truck/buggy.

I havent broken eather steering knuckle but I have broken 2 of the end links that connect to the ball link on the end of the knuckle.

As far as engines, I installed a teal head 427 in mine and lone it! Fuel consumption is down and power is more than the stock 3 port .28. If I come up with soem extra cash I'm going to get a JPX .21.

I ditched the remote igniter and got a long glow igniter so that I can turn the truck on with the body on using a bump box.

I agree that the truck should stay nitro. I ran Pete's truck, the member on this forum who I met at the track, and it just didnt feel rite. Power is eathe ron or off and I'm used to power drifting through corners. Break bias is also a big plus in the truck. I run my front breaks loose so that I can lock up the rear end breaking it loose into the turns but having the front wheels power though.

I cant get enough of this truck. I have stopped bashing it though as I feel guilty beating on it. It just begs to be run at the track and it just doesnt seem fun running at the pasrk or on th street.

I'm going to gruve my stock tires in to a bit of a "block" formation and see what happens.

Here is what Pete-Ta did to glue the switch tires for the Slayer on SC8 rims. The quote is taken from the SC8-E thread.

On a happy note, i got the switches mounted up and ready to smoke:

First I glued the front bead onto the rim.

Then I pulled the bead away from the rim where ever i could and re caed it.

The plan is to go get the screws for the bead locks tomorrow and switch over the red rings to my new rims.

I then caed the inside of the rim and tires like I did the front. I used about 1/2 oz of ca for these wheels. they should not come off

the switches are no good it has less grip than the stock sc8 tires IMO. the switch likes to push out under throttle. so it understeers. its also verry slippery. buggy tires are the way to go for handling. well i gess try them out maybe youl like the proline switch

BTW pegasus track tomorrow open till 11 on Wednesdays but im sure u knew that. see you there!

are you talking from experience running them on an SC8? because I am and for me it was nite and day.

Also, I heard they changed the track at Peg. Did they make it more SC8 friendly?

I run with Noel at Peg on tues nights with my SC8, and I'm running the switch tires on the stock SC8 rims, I think there work way better than the stock tires.
