Default nihm maintenance

I know you are suppose to charge and discharge these, but I haven't. I have just been charging, run em, then charge em again.

I have a 6 cell 4600 rocket pack.

Its a good idea to discharge them periodically, preferablly on a discharge tray so they are all discharged equally. Its also not good to run a Nimh pack more than 2 or 3 times in a day, and not too quickly either. Good to give a couple hours between charges.

at what rate should they be discharged at? I don't have a discharge tray, just a charger with a discharge feature.

you would discharge using your dis charger 10 to 30amps depending on your dis charger and use a tray to equalize them to .9 volts per cell. if you just club race and bash just discharge them every now and then

I believe rocket pack 4600's come in a stick type only and won't fit in a discharge tray.

They are and I don't plan to use a tray, just discharge. This is my last decent nihm pack. I just hang on to it because it is fairly new and works well.

Thanks

How dead are they when your done running? If you run it till the car doesn't run anymore then your fine I guess. If your racing and only run it for 5 min. then I would either run it in your car till it's dead or use you the discharge feature on your charger at it's max. rate. You don't really have to discharge but you'll probly notice an increase in performance if you do.

Then its simple... whenver you run the packs, simply run them till they are dead and wont run your car anymore.... that will pretty much garantee the cells are drained .

no you dont want to run a nimh all the way down to nothing they dont like to be drained and can damage a cell, run it until it slows and then take it off the track.being that they are stick packs i would just run them

I wouldn't think running the car untill it stops would drain the pack down to a level that would damage the pack. JMO
