Not for nuthin, but I have (or have had) 2 sidewinder 1/10 setups, 2 sidewinder 1/18 setups, 1 micro pro and one mamba 25 and never, ever did I have one problem with the product or their support.
Just because the product didn't work for you or in that particular application.....it doesn't mean their stuff is junk.

Exactly... and starting another thread attempting to slander Castle isn't a way to solve the problem...

We've all bought stuff for the wrong purpose, it's one of those hard lessons to learn.

Of course it is and I'm not "attempting" to do anything but state facts of my own personal experience with their product and support.

Some lesson........It was bought to be used as an esc and it functions like a $75 paper weight.

Can you say "Shamwow" oh, I'm sorry, that actually works!

Based on your use of colloquialisms and confrontational attitude, I'd say you're quite the educated fellow. That being said, you should already know that:
A) if you had more posts and/or feedback, you might be able to sell it here
B) though you'd probably get more money for it if you didn't refer to it as junk
C) you could continue to stare at it, talk trash about it and talk trash about CC which will win you no friends anywhere around here.

I have to agree with everyone else here. I was always under the impression that the Sidewinder was for 6-12 cell input. If you didnt know that when you bought it I can see you being upset, but it seems as though you are being a bit harsh. I for one try to do lots of research before buying something as important as a speed control. Thats why I, and Im sure many others love Castle and there super high quality products. Im glad the LRP worked out for you, but if you decide to run 6 or more cells I think you should give the Sidewinder another chance. I think you will be happy.

Before you try to correct my grammar, you may want to learn how to spell first! Confrontational? Sure, That's how I get when I have been taking advantage of. Thanks for reminding me why I'm here!

A) I'm not looking to sell it. I primarily just wanted it to work without rigging it and I consider myself a honest person. I wouldn't sell something to someone else knowing it doesn't work.
B) It is what it is.
C) I'm not here to be your friend or anybody else's. I'm here to let everyone know my personal experience with a particular castle creation product.

FYI - I actually did a bit of research before I bought it, and called ahead of time to ask if it would work wit 4 cell operation. That was preconfrontational in case you were wondering.

Hypothetically speaking, Let's say anywhere on the CC website it said, " Not compatible for 4 cell nimh operation", then I probably wouldn't have bought it. Now, Let's say........At any point during the three times I called tech support for help (Pre confrontational attitude), that I was told this esc wouldn't work with a 4 cell nimh pack, then I probably would not be this upset. Instead, I was given the "run around".

So, excuse me for not being chipper.

Wow, I'm surprised you even knew what that word meant, but I fixed it for ya. So basically, the instructions, specs and support for the ESC are what you find fault with, yet you continue to bash the product itself.
Do us all a favor and take your bigot attitude elsewhere.

If we wanna start splittin' hairs... where on the website does it say anything about use in a 1/12 scale pan car? Does it not say 1/10 right on the box?

Ummm.......Your in my thread, and I don't recall soliciting your input.

Yes, You are a fast learner. Instructions, specs, support, and product. All of which are poor.

Does it say "not for 1/12 use" or "not for use with 4 cell nimh"?

KY, Save yourself some time and take my word for it. You don't have read the entire website. I did that before I bought my non working sidewinder esc.

Aside from all the unnecessary smack talk on this thread....I knew the Castle 1/10th scale systems were not for use with 4 cell Nimh. Im not sure why someone working for them would tell you it should. I agree with you that re-wiring it to work is not a good solution. However I think you should try the product in its intended manner before spreading the word that it is junk. If someone at Castle told you it should work in your setup, then maybe you are justified in complaining about the customer service though.

I appreciate your honest opinion and I don't have any plans to purchase another car for it to possibly work for me as that was not what I bought it for. I only intend to own this one carpet use pan car. You must have known from 1st or 2nd hand experience that it wouldn't work.

Maybe you should apply for a job with CC as a tech support agent, I think you would have saved them from me.

KY? Is that supposed to be a reference to the "personal lubricant"? Now you're resorting to (weak) name-calling? That speaks volumes right there...
