MAY 29TH (FRIDAY) I WILL HOLD A 1/10TH 2WD NITRO TRUCK TEST RACE INDOORS.
RC10GT's, XXX-NT's - 1/10th only, no 4wd's, no 1/8th scales, no CRT.5's (yet), no monster truck (T-maxx/Revo).
We have been testing a few trucks on the track and it hasn't been that bad, so I want to give it a try. We might not even get enough guys to run an actual race, so it may just be a nitro practice night.

Oh, no I wasnt buying one just for RCHR. After seeing them run at Mass...I'm really interested in them now as a new class... But it would be great to have a place to run them at.

Well, now that my head is spinning....
PLEASE, what I am about to say by no means does not threaten the way I feel and support RCHR.
The most opposing person there against spec class pulls this one out. A spec class for the most elite class. People that shell out $400.00 and up for a car of the day over the counter, on top of the speedo of the week, with the hottest tire of the minute(they dont come with tires), and the biggest battery the wallet will allow, really arent looking for a MIDDLE of the way class. These people are looking to drive their car as fast as possible, and be as competitve as possible while doing it. I agree that it becomes frustrating, and expensive but, who in this hobby really cares of the cost when they have so much vested in the car and the requirements already.
I think Mark and John are on the right track with a SPEC class, but have totally missed the target class. CORR trucks should be the spec class, and run it the way it should be. It is much easier to sell Joe off the street and entry level RTR CORR truck, as opposed to selling them a 1500.00 race car. Ultimately, the spec racer will eventually grow in the hobby and progress into a bigger, faster class such as 2wd Mod, or 4wd Mod. But I think interersting a new participant into a 4wd SPEC class is not a vivid future for it. I also think the local racers that are there competing weekly would much rather run a mod 4wd instead.
I too, would like to see more and more racers come, but also we need to keep who we have too.
When we start making multiple classes for the same core of guys, it becomes too expensive, and to chaotic in the raceday.
I think the intro of Nitro would be a good idea. How popular was the nitro truck class at RCE? They were non-existent at the Barn on sunday. Only 1/8th elec and nitro 1/8 truggy, Nitro monster truck and CORR(spec rules).
They had a total of 17 heats. Does RC Madness see 1/10 nitro truck also? I dont think so... 1/8 and CORR. See what I mean.. BTW, I did drive to RCE on Sunday, but it was done by time I got there.
Again, I support RCHR, and I look foward to racing there competively, and also for fun. I like bringing my kids there, they play, run their trucks and they are satisfied. And so am I.

Hey Raul,
You bring up some good points.
RCHR are we still gonna be able to run Mod 4wd if we chose to??
Off course, I understand that, if all there is, are 10.5 4wds, then I'll run mine with a 10.5.
I'd rather run Mod motors on my cars, I think I've proven that I can run in Mod classes, I'm by no means the fastest guy, but I seldom break my cars and can handle the faster motors in 2wd and 4wd.
How fun is it really gonna be to run with people barely just out of Sportsman and jump right into 4wd??

I stand by my previous statement, I'll run whatever you guys are running, I have a 10.5 from my XXX, all I have to do is just put it in the ZX5 and I'm ready to roll.

Just voicing my opinion.

How are we doing in Promoting the May 16th trophy race??
I've read that a couple of people from LIR are coming down, how about people from RCE??
Have the classes and fees been posted somewhere on here??
Can we start the 10.5 4wd class after the trophy race?? I just want to run my cars as they are for the trophy race, then switch whatever I need to switch...
10.5 from the XXX to the ZX5
8.5 from the ZX5 to the T4
5.5 from the T4 to my tool box....

I'm just trying to think of a way we can get the 12 to 14 guys that have 4wd buggies to race them on a regular basis. We have more RCHR regulars with 4wd buggies than short course trucks. I would like to figure out how to get everybody to race them....
