Which 17.5 motor??
#1
I've got a novak 17.5 now and it's ok. Was looking at getting another 17.5 and came across an Vector X11 17.5 . Are they just as good or should i stay away from them. I had been running a 10.5 Orion before they changed the ROAR rules for 19t to 13.5. I loved it and NEVER had an issue with it. Any help is good help.

I run the stock spec x11 13.5 and all i can say is WOW.
Lrp's new design is very good. this motor runs soooo cool it is not even funny.
I was able to go up 2 teeth on my pinion from my novak pro ss and it does not break 143 deg. after a 12 min. run.
for a 6 min main i will be able to gear it to the moon

I was on the ledge over the novak and the lrp so i bought both ,tried em both in my b4 and went with the lrp.I put the novak in my touring car
I run a sphere comp. profile 2
I will buy a 17.5 v x-11 for stock touring this summer.

I have heard to many negatives in the Havoc series, I have a full LRP set up on my SC10 and I have a X-11 10.5 and a 17.5 that I love, they run very cool quiet and smooth, the 10.5 is a little much in a Sc10, but a 13.5 just arrived in my mailbox today and that's going in tonight.
Also after hearing some negatives about the Havoc system which I thankfully had still in the package I returned it and picked up the extra X-11 13.5

I agree with Fat500, the newer LRP Stock Spec motors are spectacular motors. I have a 10.5 that I use and I'm very happy with it. I do have a Tekin 17.5 that I'm not so thrilled with for two reasons, the endcap is not bevelled and the cap screws project around .010" past the cap. The LRP sets up easier than the Tekin for those two reasons but the Tekin does run good and when running it with a 28 tooth pinion and 86 tooth spur in the Slash it stays under 125 degrees.

On sat I ran against a guy who had one of the new lrp Eraser 13.5 stock spec motors in his car.
Now I run the new 13.5 lrp V-X11 stock spec. Both motors look the same with the exception of the sticker on the outside and some differences in the internals.
We are both geared the same and he was equally as fast as me. It all came down to driving. One of the best fights I ever had
a lot of fun
now for the nitty gritty: we ran lipos for 32 minutes exactly. I temped both of our motors after the run. my temp was 118deg and his was 146deg. 84 deg outside temp.
so you can see my x-11 runs much cooler but they were both fast.
I was very impresed.
so if you want to save about 35.00 and go for the eraser you will not be dissapointed. I was not for sure.
