I was driving my T3 and I ran through a small puddle. Then my car died. I took off the battery and let it dry out. A couple of hours later I put the battery back in and my reciver started to smoke. My garage now smells like burt battery. Is there a chance that when I plugged in my battery I fired my battery and my reciver. I am pretty sure my reciver is fried Do I just buy a new reciver and plug it in? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Receiver could be shot. You might have gotten away with it if you had opened the receiver and esc and made sure they were dry before you put power to them agian. I know it doesn't help now but just an FYI for future reference.

Stay away from water unless you've water proofed your electronics! The only hope of saving your rx went away when you put power to it and something shorted and smoked.

You don't have to take one apart - just take it out and put it somewhere hot for a few days - I put my car in the sun with windows rolled up and set stuff on the dash. Rxs are so simple you can take one apart and dry it out or spray contact cleaner to remove moisture. I still put them in the car for a while to be sure - you only get one chance to dry it out.

Contact cleaner is the way to go

Thanks for all the info. After further inspection and some new education. I realized I fried my E.S.C. Which was where the smoke was coming from. Just to be on the safe side thought I swapped out my reciver and controller with a new to me Fubuta Magnum sport controller and reciver. I am buying a new E.S.C. tomorrow. Hopefully everything goes as planned.
