wow, I dont know if I have ever heard anyone says that. Have you actually used a good lipo? Also lipo's work the same way when they are warm.

I have been running lipos for a good 5 years now and am never going back.

The only reason I can see anyone running the nimh is if the track allows them to run 7 cells instead of a lipo. 7 cells will make more power and would be good for a spec class.

We got back to the basics tonight, "having Fun" awesome night. Those slash races are fun as heck, looking forward to doing more slash racing, but I was truly taken with racing 4wd, those things are insane, Imma start saving up for a 4wd.

Giving Mod Truck a break, and I'm running 2wd Buggy and 4wd...

Its still an awsome buggy!! If my SP disapeared I'd be running the XX-4 without I think the only thing my XX-4 needed to be dialed like the SP (or the FS for that matter) was a rear sway bar. I'm really tempted to put it back together just to try the sway bar. The XX-4 has the typical rear traction of a LOSI but it also steers due to the fact that they put the motor on the front bumper and the new lipo batteries are just the right amount of weight! I'd REALLLY like to see what a pro like Mark could do with it! The xxx is another story.

Hopefully Mark will still let me run his XX4, till I can afford my own 4wd (shouldn't be too long), I ran his B44 tonight in the main, which by the way, were 10 min mains , I finished second to Raul and didn't break it... YAYYY I ran a 15.9. Not bad for my first 4wd race...

Anyone running both Slash classes this Sunday 3/29?

After some thought I want to concentrate more on making the podium rather then setup and I can afford one class so for me SPEC it is. If Raul/Juan and the guy who picked up the Fabtech for the first time are doing both I am screwed.

I am happy I finished well with the stupid blown out shock cap in the 3rd qualifier but I am not happy I had a great holeshot for the main I couldn't hold the whole race and a 3000mah lipo that died after 8 minutes.

Name of the game for me in gearing up...even the lipo didn't like my ratio which is a bummer.

My wife is going to kill me on Sunday if I am out all day lol...if we have a good turnout we will probably race the two class for about 4 hours right?

I have alot of fun marshalling the mod truck...you guys usually make my job easy with few flipped trucks but I get a serious workout on the bucket. Going to wear track shoes and mechanix gloves next time!

On a side note I think I am going to sell my oldschool Tamiyas to get some cash for possibly vintage RC10 carnage or a modern 2WD buggy. I know you all would probably groan if I bought a Bandit VXL since I know the crowd loves the Associated/Losi/etc but heck...the Slash/Bandit have a bunch of common parts lol. Worried a little about the abuse I might put the RC10 goldpan through if i wanted to race it regularly.

Hmmmm

Mooocooowww.. Remember gearing is not permitted in a spec class. The only gearing allowed is the pinions that came with the truck nothing else.

And I believe we settled a little rule for RCHR SATURDAY SLASH BASH club races, 18t pinions only with 83t spur, no excepetions. Any Traxxas option part will be allowed for RCHR SLASH POINTS SERIES(club racing). No aftermarket parts allowed such as tires, wheels, servos, speedo's, shocks, aftermarket aluminumn pieces. I beleive bodies will be ok, but unsure of it??? Allowable changes include reciever and transmitter which I will strongly suggest due to the only available channels for 27mhz. This will conflict with racing at every chance it gets, and in the pits will be more chaos. Now you will need a radio impound for all traxxas transmitters.. Unfortunately this would have to be done, and if someone is not happy with it, then change your radio.. Also the points series will be determined to start by owners John, and Mark and they will make their rules set.

Freddy:
order of events
1: Watch 4 wheel cars go fast.
2: Watch SLASH BASH having FUN.
3: RENT a Slash for bashing, fun...
4: Run a borrowed 4wd, and had fun.
I think you get the point. FUN. BTW, nice job last night. I see a SP in your future.. NOVAK powered..

oldschool, i think you'll have trouble being competive with a bandit, but if you can make it work, Go for it.

10min main sounds awsome. I know my battery still has half life by the end of 8mins.

I had so much fun last night it was great it opened my eyes and reminded me how much fun rc should be. Raul thank you for talking me into running my kids slash. I had a great time and raul you are right for the slash club race stock out of the box gearing NO after market parts except traxxas made parts. 25c 5000 lipos is the cut off on batterys for the slash class. I think we should paint the bodys up like real corr trucks but thats my two cents. Like I said up top I had a blast last night. Now my post last week may have been taken the wrong way last saturday was just a bad day for me period. Rchr is a great place to race and have fun Mark and John run a great shop and racing program. In no way was I trying to bad mouth rchr or mark and john and if anyone thought that out of my post i am sorry. Mark,John and Will will go out of there way to help anyone. Rchr helped open my eyes last night to how fun racing is and If it wasnt for my wife breaking my balls to take a couple weeks off i would be there saturday..

FreddyGreat job last night the slash race I had a blast. remeber the more the marry i wouldnt mind seeing 15 trucks on the track at one time if the lap counter could handle it.

RaulHad a blast running slash with you last night thank you for talkking me into running

You mean 18/86 for Slash right?

83 spur is stock ona VXL rustler I believe.

I was referring to the run what you brung the last few races. Obviously...Spec its a no-no.

Spec it is...
I have all the 26/27 crystals but don't see the need for the 2.4ghz just for the race for me. I'll just try to show up early but as you would imagine there will be a TON of green/red/blue and yellow peeps who will have to impound but what should they expect. Four stock channels for a few dozen probable Slash.... Stock up on some used Losi slider radios lol!

On a side note Slashers...whomever pushed for the 10 min mains...thanks it was a blast!

To whomever was cool with TQ-ing and still running straight up starts I commend your sportmanship for letting guys a few clicks off like me run essentially the same start. The beginning is the most exciting part of the race for me and even though i got caught up a few times a few other times I made it through. With the insane turnout expected we probably won't be able to do that in Spec but you open folks should be good to go with probably less numbers.
