that was a low blow if I ever saw one....

How about this Bryan, just to make you happy, how about if I convert my RC10T into a Short Course truck, and run it with the Slashes, will it be allowed??

Or, can I run my 10T with the sportman guys?? Oh wait, they won't let me, even if I'm running an old stock motor....

Fine Fine, I'll just run my current cars, just to make you happy....

I have yet to see a mini that worked well on dirt, they do look good on carpet though.

Look at a 2 cell lipo...fully charged and ballanced you are looking at again, 8.4 or so volts, a hell of alot more punch (15c-45c punch) which is a HUUUGE advantage not to mention more consistent continuous voltage, predictable dropoff, very low discharge rate (when it is sitting overnight) not to mention a serious weight savings.

7 cells (unless in open class) COMPENSATE for the punch of a 2 cell lipo with VOLTAGE! Unfairly when i peak my crappy Venom 5000 bash packs they peak at 13-14.5 VOLTS!

2C lipo to 6 cell is more fair but the lipo has the clear advantage. Take out a 7 cell and although you'll be driving a tank you will be pumping almost double the voltage of the lipo which can't be overcharged like a NIMH.

The punch may feel similar but it is because of the gobs of voltage it needs to be in the same game.

Save the 7 cell for the open class or something.
How do you get 13.5-14.5 volts from a 7 cell? They usually peak around 10.4-11 volts. I've ran both in different vehicles and lipo and 7 cells are very close. Like you said a lipo is a huge advantage over a 6 cell. I think a 7 cell is more on par with the lipo packs.
I run a 7 cell regularly in slash class and do very well with it. Consistent 18 second laps mixed with some 17s and 19s. Ran 26 laps in the main on wednesday.

How bout you convert it to 4wd?
You could race it against the 1/16 scale electric Slayers.

Listen here sunny Jim,

I could convert it to 4wd, but the MIP RC10 4wd kits are very rare and hard to find....

I'll just wait for the SC10s to come out and buy me one of those to bag around with the slash guys....

Or I might take the plunge and buy a 4wd, to see what's all the fuzz about...(but dont tell the wife )

And don't think that your "Losi" comment didn't go unnoticed....

Don't make me bust out the XX and run it again in 2wd buggy...

Freddy,

Go 4wd.... you'll love it!!!

It looks like I finaly may have found a ZX5-SP so chances are you'll see me running 4wd in a few weeks. Marks XX-4 is very nice and would be a great car for you..... or there is Joe Glorioso's ZX5 that's for sale in the shop and comes with a buch of spares.

I didn't like the feel of the B44 as much as I liked my old original BJ4. After driving a SP I knew I found what I was looking for. Yes I am trying to go all Kyosho also..

I'm glad you noticed my sig. It's nothing against the shop, just my personal feelings about the class. Racers = $$$ for the shop and the 4 or 5 oval guys do bring in some money, but I think the oval puts too many restrictions on track layouts and hurts the rest of the off-road program which is the "core" class and the main income for the shop. My biggest gripe with the oval is the moveable pipes and string that are used to chance the track. It is way too easy to get hung up on them and I have seen several people get tripped up by them while marshalling. I don't want to see anyone get hurt.

Not a fan of the oval either but I don't make the rules. A little blunter then the "crash at both ends" one though.

All my racing stuff is kyosho, I don't count the slash because its not really a race truck. Still fun but not a race vehicle. 8th scale I am going ofna (hyper 9) or losi though. Kyosho's 8th scale is just to much $$$$.

I've been thinking about an E-1/8 but don't think I can fit in into my schedule. I plan on running carpet again next winter and if I ran 1/8 in the summer when would I be able to run at RCHR??? I also have become spoiled running indoors. I no longer have to deal with the weather or draging the easy-up around.

Have you seen that ROAR has finaly come out with a set of Short Corse Truck rules?

of course I saw the short course truck rules. I am a geek and online all the time. If they start to get big like the slashes then I might have to pick up a sc10.

I really like the indoors but want a little bit of a change. Right now I am hoping to race friday nights outdoors.

8th scale electric is were I plan on being this summer(probably e-revo until the hyper comes out). 8th scale electric should really start to kick off this year. New cars coming out, tekin and castle systems, smc getting on board. Things are starting to look good.

Ron you got a P.M.
