a strong .21 will yield better lap times then a .28, not to mention the fuel economy you give up with a .28, all the newer truggies are geared for .21's. you just need a .21 with good bottom end power like the ebm5, ninja jx, v-spec those motors will give you as much power as the truck will handle and give you really good economy, tuned right you can get around 10 min run times with them

everyone debates motor size, but no one ever gives the facts about weight,gears,carb.,exhaust,ect. so how can you say what motor is the best????

Another vote for the EX-TECH. I have the .24 in my truggy and the .21 in my buggy these engines are great. Great run times easy to tune. I use the big boy pipe on both. Get the race prepped and the break in is already done for you. I would suggest running an additional 500cc then tune and race.

Currently I am running a mach 427 wich is good power(11 to 12 min run times) but just want to get something else. .21 or .28 grp? Thanks

Grp makes a great motor the .21 is more than enough. If you have to have the .28 power you will sacrafice run time down in the 6-7 min range.

I was looking at the truggy GRP promo .28 kit with the orange cooling head on ebay, the .21 promo kit for the buggy has the silver head, Is that the one I want? The .21 with the orange head is for the Rally right? Thanks for any help

the silver head is a no tuned version, the rally version is more for european tracks, if you are looking for a .21 they make a .21 tuned buggy version its got the orange head also

grp isnt very stabile at this time, i owned one it worked out well for me, there might not be a ton of support for the engine in the near future, its kind of shaky thats why you are seeing the price's go down on them, not because they are doing well

Default engine

my friend the pros use .21 engine
if you look @ the results always is .21
i have try everything
and o.s engines are the best

o.svspec its a very good engine for the price i like my vspec eb modified its other thing
the speed its the top of the line bit is more expensive

and the ninja jx.21 its the best of both worlds o.s made them for mugen thats on my truggy
better than a vspec similar power but whith o.s speed quality inside and 300 bucks no other engine @ this moment can compete whith the ninja
good luck buy vspec or ninja

i whant to try the new reedy and the team orion alpha engines but o.s power the best out there

Thanks, I do see the .21 tuned version w the orange head, just not with engine/pipe combo for the low price, like the .28/pipe combo I see. Guess I'll keep looking though

A Clockwork Engines Jammin JPX .21.... More down low then any of the .24's or .25's, and more on top then any of the other .21's...runtimes of about 12 minutes..... Will be the fastest nastiest engine on your track !!!! I promise ya !
