I have a T-Maxx 4909 3.3. I can not get it to shift to second gear. It will bog down right befor it is supposed to shift (I am thinking) or sometimes right off the bat (but I think this one is my fault) however when is reverse it shifts just fine no bogging down. I am confused any help would be great. I believe I have it tuned right and have had my buddy help me who has owned quite a few of these and per the instructions it's right but this one problem.
Thank you in advance

by bogging down do you mean it wants to stall when you hit the gas or when it is running and tryingt o go into second it falls on its face? its either A) a tuning issue or B) the tranny needs to be adjusted. But from what you have said it sounds more like a tuning issue. 9 tims out of 10 if it aint shifting into second its tuned to rich. my suggestion is lean it out about an 1/8 of a turn and see if that gets you anyweres.

It wants to fall on it's face but it's only in forward reverse it does just fine. Sometimes I will give it full throttle and it will run just find for a couple seconds then fall on it's face in forward. It's not running too lean cause we have adjusted it to where we knew it was rich and it still did the same thing

did you adjust the low, mid, and high speed needles to make sure its not running lean or did you only adjust the high speed needle(a lot of people new to nitro do that)
and does it hold at high rpms before shifting. if it does you just need to turn the hex screw for the shift point adjustment 1/4 turns at a time counter clockwise until you get the shift point right.

Well I played with it a little more tonight and I got it to stop bogging down. Adjusted the idle and high speed a little more. I can't tell if it's shifting or not but I think it is. Thank you guys. I bought this thing used and the guy had a dual exhaust on it that he broke one tip on and I think that was throwing it off so I threw the stock pipe on then adjusted it some more and it started to run great. I was running awsome then just died and wouldn't restart fuel was in the tank. Any idea what would cause this? Sorry I am new to these things.

Could be you have it too lean and when it then overheats, they are the dickens to get re-started. I'd reset the needles and start from factory settings. These are easy to run lean and have a short engine life, less than a gallon.
