Nice! I think this will be good for WGT cars too...which I plan on getting into.

This is a good reason this site needs a wiki style page...

Nice job on the guide... If I can make a suggestion, I'd think it would be appropriate to put a citation in the document giving credit to Rich Chang for the portions that came from him...

just a thought...

This is awesome...thanks for the hard work.

Here is what I would suggest to add onto that doc file....I am always have trouble remembering what final drive/roll out to use on different motor speed. Right now...I am not so sure how many ppl are still running brushed motor, so I think it can be very general about those motor. But for brushless motor, can that be listed motor like 21.5, 17.5, 13.5, 10.5 and mod?

I know alot of ppl are running 17.5, 13.5 and even 10.5...those who run MOD probably don't need to know about that cause they are already PRO. But what is the typical tire size (front and rear) and what final drive with roll out calculation with all these motor 10.5, 13.5 and 17.5?

I would say, just give us the general cause ppl will say different brand of 13.5 will perform differently, but with the basic gearing, at least we are not going to run something way under or way over.....at the end, we will all do the final testing at the track.

Here, I have something I saved in my phone just incase I have some pickup race for 12th scale

(27T/19T brushed stock motor) 1.7" front tire, 1.75"-1.8" rear tire (diameter)
Purple front (42s) Grey rear (30s) (probably is old news cause they are all running something with different color now with Parma and Jaco)
1.90" roll out
Droop 0.5mm-1mm

(13.5 brushless motor) 1.63" front 1.73" rear (diameter)
Double pink front, yellow rear (new color - current model)
62-65mm roll out

Just a suggestion...............

This is the gearing file i use.
You just need to change the spur gear sizing to get the roll out.
Normally, i will up 2 pinion size for every change in motor-turn for a start.
example - if i am using 20pinion for 10 turn motor, i will change to 22turn for 11turn as a start out. Further fine tune during the run.
Also, I kept a copy of the roll-out for various common spur size as a reference.

Hope this will be useful.....
