Just wondering is it ok to leave nitro in your fuel tank overnight, wouldn't think it would be an issue but would rather be safe than sorry lol

Cheers Mal

I have heaps of times Mal. Hasnt done any damage, ideally you want to dump whats in the tank and then start her up and burn off any fuel left in the lines.

I find overnight does not hurt at all Hell I have left fuel in there for a week before But it does start to eveaporate and leave only the oil which can block things up. So overnight ok any longer no
and at the end of the day if you now you wont use it for at least a week you pour or suck out all the fuel and then re start engine with glow plug attached and leave it attached and run all the fuel out of the lines and the tank and it will be sweet next time you start it Lots of guys use afterrun oil at this stage but I never have and all my engines are fine.

If you leave fuel in the tank for a long period it becomes like a sludge. At the earliest moment, drain your fuel tank, start your engine and burn away any fuel in the lines. Any unburnt fuel remaining in the engine can cause oxidization(rust) on any metal surfaces, eg. bearings, thus, shortening the life span of the engine.
People use after-run oils to try and prevent this from happening.
I would say that after-run is only required if you are going to store the engine for long periods, longer than a month.
If you are starting you engine regularly, once a week, or every couple of days, it should be ok.
