Default Thumper project

here's my work in progress its a t-maxx 2.5 what just didnt haver enough torque for my liking so i decided to drop a saito fa-40 in any suggestions, thoughts, doubts..i want to hear it

Did you have to use the big block chassie ?

How do you start it?


And please post a video of it, i really want to hear it!

It looks like he cut some aluminum and made his own motor mount and didn't need a BB chassis. Nice job!

You better get some good CVD's, you're going to need them.

ya i totally agree i have seen crazy4wdracer rip drive shafts in half !!! LOL

ill post a video but ass of now im still working some things out like starting it im able to start it with a notch in the fly wheel and piece of heavy string sort of like a old school briggs and strattons engine but its a major payne in the ass so i was thinking of making some sort of bump start system. i also have to setup the servo for the throttle and brake control.

as for upgrading the drivetran i guess im going to need to do the whole works cvd's, gear box and all that good stuff. any ideas as to what size clutch bell i sould use would be helpfull cause i want to get some some decent top speed out of the thing

topspeed+4 stroke= really hard. gear it high buddy!

also, whats that little nipple where the pushrod cam is?

you can say goodbye to those diffs. i have a highly modded out P3 .28 and my diffs are about to go out. good luck tho i would like to see teh video when its done. the savage video sounds quite nice.

the little nipple is for crank case ventilation.


ive started posting it on a different forum but heres a few updates. waiting on some part i ordered in

i was going to use it to start it but i decided to drop that idea, it was starting to be a pain. so i ordered a airplane starter and a belt and plan on starting it like they do with boats. also ordering in a ignition system so i can run different fuel mybe some ethanol
