Default brushless and lipos

I want to start racing my slash at the lhs and we can run any 10.5 brushless so which is the best one to run for the price? Novak Havoc Spec Brushless System 10.5 $150, Novak GTB/SS 10.5 Pro Brushless System $230, or the Traxxas Velineon Brushless System $165 ...... also i have a novak 4300 brushless motor is it comparable to the newer 10.5 novak motors.

The next thing is I would like to start running lipos so what is a good battery and charger to get?

the "get the best your wallet can handle advice" is a good rule of thumb to follow for purchasing about anything RC-related, but especially electronics.

Lipo batts made from quality cells pay off in the long run by delivering better performance, lasting longer and tolerating more in the way of abuse, either intended or accidental. The name brand cells like Orion, NeuEnergy, PolyQuest, PolyRC, Hyperion and others are made with top quality cells which is why the tend to cost more than others. For a successful lipo brand, price is a good indicator of cell quality.

Chargers - there are lots of good ones out there. Do you want an AC/DC charger or a DC only charger that'll need a separate power supply??

This one has no balancer, only does 1 - 3S lipo and would need additional balancer -

ALso no builtin balancer, but does 1 - 4S lipo -

for $100+ chargers, most of them have a 50w maxx charge rate, your better off going with an onyx 230 and, if you want one, an external balancer...
