well, what ever glue is used is useless! The rubber came straight away. I didnt even manage 3 runs up and down the street before they seperated . Not very impressed actually. Guess I have to glue them myself

Hi
just like to know , which 21 engine is the top of the range for buggy racing
and will this engine make 10 min with the right ventury, correct tune and throttle control?
Darren from RC hobby zone showed me an engine on his pc for $499 but i cant see this on your web site.

Cheers

hey Tas, Darren hooked me up with the GO .21 7 Port with matching pipe and I am really pleased with it so far. Mines still running a bit rich and I have the smallest venuri in it as I am after response and run times, not overall power and speed (coz i cant drive to save my ass just yet ).

The motor he showed you was probably the modified 7 Port or 5 Port that were on the site for about that price last week I think as "pre production" models i beleive.

Anyways, a big +1 for even the STOCK 7Port. Its making my Hyper 8 go off its tits, but i got it for my New Mugen Truggy (that needs a new front lower arm) - oops.

Any of the stock Go Pro motors 3, 5, or 7 port will suit buggy, it all depends on the track type you run.
5 Port has massive bottom end and good top
7 Port has good bottom end and massive top
3 Port is nippy throughout the range

I have a soft spot for the 7 Port in a buggy. It suits most tracks pretty good in stock form. Run it with 2047 pipe for longer open track or 0801 pipe for short tight track. If you want a budget pipe that works well in most conditions go for the Dynamite 053.
As far as run times go, IMO the 0801 gives the best run time on the 7 Port. If you run the 0801 pipe and 6.5 restrictor you should see 10 mins with good throttle control.

What makes the 3 Port so good all round? Its a budget price motor that I think will find a home its my LRP S8BX Soon.

Thats what I got and bashing seems to give great times. Going to the track tomorrow with it so I will see what sort of run times I can get out of it... if i can keep on the track long enough.

It seems like the 3 Port is very linear in it's power band. It is not particularly strong in any part of the power range, so is easy to drive smoothly. I have not owned one, but this is what the guys who run them say.
Try the 7 mm restrictor in the 7 Port. I run the 7 mm in both my 5 and 7 port, and find they are still very economical with grunt to burn.

Hi Michael - Happy New Years mate. The time was pure co-incidence. It was around 3 am our time when I posted that. At work having a very busy night shift, and was sneeking a look at the forums to help stay awake between incidents.
Best wishes to all for a safe and prosperous New Year. Although the prosperous part may be a little tricky with the current state of the worlds ecomnomy

Well guys, we had the first club race day for the year at Castlemaine in Victoria today and I had a ball. It was the first time racing with my new 5port, which only has about 2 1/2 lites through it at the moment so I am still sorta running it in. Even with it running rich and me not wanting to rev it too high for too long, I managed to finish the day in second place in Novice Buggy. Should have been first, except there was some VERY average driving on my part early on in the day.

Other results for the day as far as Go-Tech goes is-

1st Truggy - Adam Alexander, Losi 8ight-T, Go-Tech 5 Port, A-Main Fuels
2nd Pro Buggy - Adam Alexander, Losi 8ight, Go-Tech 5 Port, A-Main Fuels
2nd Novice Buggy - Me, Hotbodies D8, Go-Tech 5 Port, A-Main Fuels

All in all it was a good day for Go-Tech and a hell of a lot of fun.

Cheers,
Gary

It certainly was Grizz. I'd go as far as to say that it is the most fun I have had racing so far. Especially the last race which finished with a mere 3/100ths between myself and 1st place.
And yes, GO Engines and A-Main Fuel= Match made in heaven.
