I ran on saturday in 2WD. we had 4 heats Oval, 2WD B, 2WD T, and 4WD.

I think I put down 26 laps in the main. I plan to do better next time. I did terrible in the first 2 laps.

tonight during practice I put down my fastest lap 15.8 with a 19x1 CheckPoint Money motor. Now I just have to do that when I race.

Tom put down a 14.7 in his 4WD!!

26 laps, so it's just a matter of time before we start seing 28-29 laps out of this new layout.

I mean, Mark got 27 laps in the main with a busted up RB5 in his first time running the new layout.

So I guess this track is not as low as everyone think it is

Murphy sounds like you are putting down some good laps for the new layout. Not much slower then we were on the old layout.

I still haven't driven it but hope to saturday. I just put a 13.5 in the rb5 and jacked the timing all the way up. Want to get as much power as I can out of it. I want to try the 13.5 because I think that is what I will run for the Jan 10th race. If there isn't much time difference between that and a 10.5 I might just use the same motor for both classes.

I also want to see how it actually compares to your Money motor.

Oh and enough practice Murphy , I am going to have a hard enough time beating the pace you are already running.

Yes, non hard-case lipo saddle packs are legal in 4wd class only for the Jan 10th state champs race.

Tom,

you may not need to turn up the timing. I actually turned the timing down on my money motor from 24 to 12 degrees. I did this to save on brush life, heat and get more torque out of the motor. I also have it under geared 1 tooth. All you really need to worry about is getting over the big jump. The rest is smooth driving.

I think the money motor actually made me .5 secs faster because now the throttle is not as touchy with all the turns.

I am still curious as to what classes are going to be run at the State Championship race. A few of us LIR guys are attending and we would like to know the classes that are going to be offered. Hope you all have a great Holiday and see you all on the 10th.

I am running brushless so I figured I would start with the most I can get out of it and then just turn down on controller if I need less since I am not going to bring a pc to the track . No worries about no stinking brushes.

Replied and hope the info helped. I think I might also be doing another one in the spring.

Mark answered that a couple pages back. I know he said there would be a
17.5/stock class
13.5/19t super stock
10.5 limited mod
mod class.

I would assume they would be just for 2wd and 4wd would run mod but he would know for sure on that.

Wow, 4 different 2wd classes? Sounds like an on-road race.

yah that is a lot. I think its basically because roar considers a 13.5 as 19t where most places run the 10.5 for it. Knowing Lir and Rce do the 10.5 class he is going to also do that as a limited mod. Dont know who plans on running 17.5 class but that is stock so I guess they have to have it. I plan on doing 13.5/19t but if it wasn't there I would just do 10.5.
