Default DX2 Antenna

My antenna on my DX2 broke at the bottom, and now it won't stay up. I called Spektrum and they said I would have to send it in to have them fix it. Because of the antenna wire is sensitive and it could be pulled out and not have good range.

Has anyone changed one before, and where could I buy it?

The transmitter antennas are not available to purchase separately. You'll need to sent it in for replacement.

Those of you that have a Spektrum radio antenna bust, it is possible to change the antenna by yourself....only trouble is you run the risk of voiding your warrenty if you screw up anything else on the radio.

Look at the back of the DX, remove the screws
carefully separate the back plate from the radio.
(I have the DX3.0)The antenna is CLIPPED onto the board
carefully ulpug the antenna wire with your HANDS***no tools***

Now that the wire id disconnected, you can remove the antenna itself.

The antenna will be secured in the radio via a black housing. The housing is held in place with 1 screw, remove it and the antenna housing and antenna will both come out the top of the radio.

The antenna will separate from the housing at the point underneath the folding joint. Get a precision screwdriver and lift the holding tab of the antenna from the inside through the bottom.

The antenna can then be pulled and you can replace with new antenna if you can get Horizon to ship you one....

I did becase it would have cost me $65+ to ship from Canada with a tracking number and then they said that the turn around was 3-4 days. Not counting Canadian customs, I was looking at 8-10 weeks for a 12min repair WITH NO SOLDERING....

Boo to Horizon. If I could purchase the antenna assemblies from them, I would charge way less....

Ok I have a dx2 here that did this same thing and I do have a fix for this possably and something horizon should consider.. DLINK WIRELESS ROUTER antenna to my di-514 is the exact same size and look to the DX2 antenna ,,, and the d link one screws into my router,, so why cant Horizon make these do the same thing and screw into the remote.... Ill take a pic of the antenna I have and the piece it needs!! http://cgi.ebay.com/FOR-LINKSYS-DLIN...QQcmdZViewItem

it clips on to a connector plug on the board. It can be a pain in the butt to put on, because its a tight fit on the plug.

I think it came with a RTR Turmoil, and the radio was not super clear in the photo from the eBay auction I bought it from.....and of course nothing in the description
