Default 1/18 scale slider receiver

can i use a 1/18th scale receiver from my losi slider in my 1/10 scale late model i am building-i don't think the receiver will know what scale car it is in-
the esc is novak gtb-with a 10.5 brushless system-am i right in the fact that the receiver doesn't know or care what scale car or what motor or esc i use

Like you said, the rx doesn't car what car its in, what scale, it doesn't matter. The thing that possibly will are the servos, but sounds like you're only using the rx so its not an issue.

You've been right so far - yes, thats one of the uses for a y-splitter, it'll power your transponder too.

I was out a really long time too, but came back to rc about 5yrs ago and I was coming back from the plane side. The biggest changes seem to have been in batts and all the electronics - it took me a while to catch up, but places like rctech really help.

Do ask - like they say, the only stupid ques is the one you don't ask.

Default jr radio

NEXT-question is i bought used JR RACING AM radio put receiver that came with radio in slider -hooked up battery steering is perfect but throttle is backwards-can't figure out to make stupid thing to spin the wheels in the right direction-probably could resolder wires on motor and make pos to neg-etc but i don't know if it hurts these motors (stock slider) or if the motor doesn't now which direction it is turning-darn think has a screen on it but with no direction -it is tough-i did look all over this thing to see if it had a rev. switch for thr.& steer. but couldn't find any-any body know how to rev. her--thanks rich

Little guesswork here - if thats a brushed motor, yes, it makes a diff and direction can't be reversed by switching wires. All the brushed motors I've had have been labeled (+) and (-). I assume you've made sure its connected correctly?

There should be a throttle channel reversing switch on the radio - find it and set it the other way and all should be good. There is another reversing switch for the strg as well if thats not correct. Sometimes these switches in the radio are labeled as channel 1, 2 - channel 2 is the throttle.

Sorry Rich, but I'm not familar with JR equip - I use futaba. Didn't know enough to understand its a digitial radio. I am guessing you don't have the manual either? Is it the XR2i radio? The manuals are available on line and they will show you how to reverse the throttle channel - it def is "in the screen". My bad for not being savy enough to realize its digital... If this is not your model, navigate around on JRs site and I think you'll be able to find it.

Gotta keep the little lady happy....keep the peace in the family. Life is easier that way, I know the drill.

Rich, throttle channel reversing is covered on page 20, that where you want to look. Wouldn't hurt to dnload it so you have it for reference either. Take care, Harold
