the internals are fine just the compression is a little bit weak so it might get a back yard pinch and then get used for a thrasher

looking forward to hamilton on the 14th -are you working or playing

I'll get you some more feed back through Paul as all the guys running you engines at the nats were really happy as Grizzy has already posted and my 50+ ltr gen1 7port has finnaly lost compression in it's original piston linner It's only 2 years old after all

Hmm 14th, let me consult my shift calendar. Bugger - working the night shift, so I won't have time to get back from the Waikato. Depends who else is going down. I might look at taking some leave owing.

Thanks Mark, Yer Darren handed me a brand new Savage XL and told me to have my way with it (insert evil laugh)

So I ripped down the gearbox and worked out a way to modify a revo centre diff to fit in there while maintaining the 3 speed box. Then I looked at dropping the motor and gearbox down to the lowest legal height. I made some prototype TVP’s out of Aluminium to make sure that everything could fit, and then lowered the servos down as far as I could along with designing and fitting a self contained front brake carrier.

Darren was adamant that the new beast must be able to accept the Go .28 with the twin roto-starter so I worked out how and where to make the cut-outs to accept the motor. Because we dropped the motor quite a bit the TVP ended up not very tall through that area so I made an extra section of the TVP to make a strut that goes over the top of the exhaust manifold for strength.

Once I had the Prototypes the way I wanted them I sent them off to a company that digitised them and sent me back a CAD model. This then went into my computer where I cleaned up some of the ragged areas, made the sexy “F” cut-outs and all the extra cut-outs for good show.
The carbon fiber sheet made its way back from China in the bottom of my suitcase last trip. The carbon Fiber sheet and the cad models went to a CNC machining company here in Adelaide and hey presto very bling TVP as easy as that!!!

Add some fancy linkages to give adjustable front and rear brake bios and the new beast is ready for its 1st race outing next weekend
I think my little revo with the GO .21 might get smoked by the big bad ass GO.28 cant wait to see this puppy in action.

As you might have noticed I am very excited and proud of Darrens new baby.

One word............................MASSIVE

Dyno results in for the MG66 .21 ... the guy who does the dyno testing couldnt believe the dyno reading. But dyno results are unique to the dyno used , mind you the last engine i tested put out almost 2.5 hp this one on the same dyno put out just a bit more ...

Default noobie :)

hey guys,
Adam here, been reading this thread with great interest! I just got myself a Hong Nor X1CRT with a GO 25, which I'm in the proces of breaking in (only been through 5 tanks). Is 10 tanks safe to start leaning out the mixture?

just wanted to say hi to everyone and thanks for all the useful info!

one quick question - I have 20% and 25% nitro - can i use either?
can they be mixed? would this produce 22.5% nitro?

aplogies if any of those are silly questions

cheers!

Hey Adam

Yes you can mix them but youll get an average of the 2 fuels in direct proportion of the amounts you mix , IE if you mix them 50/50 then yes you will get 22.5 % if you have more of one than the other ie 75% 25 and 25 % 20 you will get 23.75 approx ...

Be sure to tune from the LSN first ok , levae the HSN flush

Cheers MM

Thanks MM,
that's good to know. I did start leaning out the mixture (LSN first - prob about 1.5 to 2 turns from default) but I think I might richen it back up a bit until I've done about 10 tanks.
Don't want to fall into the trap of trying to get too much out of it too early

It was really pulling nicely though on the last tank I ran - can't wait for it to really start running properly.

Thanks again for all the useful info - been a big help to this noobie

cheers
