the part about the sedan racers spending it all is not accurate. it was keeping the building and not having enough tournout at races that depleated the clubs funds. Besides i'd like to get a F1 class started, because thats the only onroad i have and id like to race it mor that once a year.

The problem with big races is that if you have them all the time, they cease to be big races. Part of the draw is that they are held so seldomly.

that is wuite true. we should have less big races, we should have one at the end of outdoor (the 2.4 hours of marcca), and one at the end of indoor ( the carpet challenge). because then people have a bigger reason to come. I doupt more than 20 people even know about this next enduro.

The problem with an enduro is that it is a specialized event. If you don't have a brushless motor, you can't even compete, so why bother? Some will go just for the fun of it, but brushless versus non-brushless in the same class just doesn't work.

How much money went into the building over the summer? we couldnt of lost that much money this summer. i bet if we buy new carpet we could get the money back through sedan racing, we could probably get some trackside guys for the big races and maybe even friday nights.

The summer rent was a few thousand, I believe. That's a significant chunk of our savings. Sedans broke even. I don't know how the offroad track did.

The problem is even if there is carpet, it will be tough to get sedans back. Most of the racers have vowed never to race indoors at MARCCA again. Apparently the club President came out to the outdoor track and made some remarks to people about how sedan racing didn't matter to the club since there were only 12-15 people at the most each time. I have that same quote from a few different people, and once those racers had spread the word, the remaining guys that raced with us last year pretty much all said they had enough of the club and they wouldn't be back.

It's a really sad thing. Most of these guys raced with the club and supported it or worked on it for years and years. On top of that, even though it's "only 12 guys a week" that is still a significant chunk of money over the course of things. I race directed every single Friday night last season, from October through March, and I watched our program start to grow again. Unfortunately I can't keep doing it, especially when the club is working against us, so to speak.

I'm sure I will get ripped apart by certain people when they read what I post here, but I am sick of hiding the truth and then listening to what they say behind my back. Yes, posting club business in a public forum isn't necessarily a good thing, but it's time that the members realized exactly what is going on and how bad things may end up. Save the club now while there's still a chance.

u no thats reallly great and all...yes its deff the club members business, i paid to b a member and i pay jus like every1 esle, to practice and to race. and when ppl say that theres going to b new carpet i dont ask questions, but when they dont come thru on that i think its a right that all club members have to no wat is going on with the club, and how the money is spent.... i no marcca has all the email addresses and phone numbers of all the members, shouldnt there b a date set deciding the future of marcca? where all members can come and voice there opinion? this sounds like a good idea to get everythinhg straightend up!

Unhappy

Why is everbody so mad?, let just race and have fun, ant that what it's all about. i just traded my truck for a touring car and if im the only one out there, we'll that suxz.MARCCA is the only track i wanna run at, you people rock, yall will help out some one without a question. we'll at least 3 years ago ya'll would. i've been out of this hobby for 3 years and am getting back into it twice as hard as i did the first time around and would hate to see MARCCA go under, so with that being said let's just suck it up one more year and go racing this winter and turn what seems like a troubled club around...........

Post Here's my 2 cents

I'm new to the area and am excited to join MARCCA and to get involved. I have been reading many of the posts and have learned to respect Futureal's opinion as well as his programming prowess and I haven't even met him!

With that said, this is the place to post club business and express opinions. Now that I have a little insight into what is going on, it allows me to be more active in asking questions when I go to the first meeting at 5 PM on Saturday, October 4th, which is where everyone with an opinon should be.

I wish running and being in a club could be as easy as xxxt-2-xxxs states it. Unfortunatly, a club with no money, finger pointing and the inability to accommodate all of it's members, isn't much of club. When you have a smooth running club with an active board and interested members, it can run smoothly, but it sounds to me like things aren't being communicated to both types of racers.

For instance it should be public knowledge as to what the financials of the club are. That should be published on the website just like race results. That way there are no surprises when members are expecting money for new carpet when there is none. A club needs to be run just like a business if it is to grow and have the ability to re-invest in itself.

So far I've been impressed with the people I've met, as well as the facilities MARCCA maintains. I've visited all of the tracks and am excited to get into racing. Now I just want to see how all of these complaints I've read about communications and funding can be resolved.

So if you have an opinion please take the opportunity to voice it at the meeting on the 4th. If you can't be there, email the president of MARCCA from the MARCCA site.

Amen to that. You have no idea how many people have been saying that for years and have gotten continually shot down.
