I would like some advice on shopping for a good servo. I have a standard one but I would like to upgrade to a digital servo. I would appreciate advice on any advantages of upgrading and also on which one would be a good one to buy. I have a tc4 electric touring car.

The JR 9100 servos are great servos, but a bit large for most electric TC's. Get a Futaba S9551. If you want a JR for a TC, then get a DS9411.
Size matters when trying to fit a servo into a TC. Most are cramped and the smaller "mid size" servos I have listed above will fit much easier.
If you ever move to Nitro stuff, the 9100 series are awesome.

Havin a digital will give you a a lot more speed and torque and most digital servos have metal gears as the cheper ones will have plastic and there speed and torque will be a lot lower. some digital servos now even come with brushless motors in them. If you want the jr z9100s horrizon hobbys has them

No, don't use the 645. The three core motor will crap out on you. I can't speak for the digital versions of that servo, but 1/8 buggy is demanding on the servos. You should expect to spend $80-$120 for each servo in that class if you are buying new servos.
