Default Nitro fuel pricing

Does any think that nitro fuel pricing will come down any time soon? $40 per gallon is not funny any more.

It will probably be awhile before most shops sell off their old stock though, the outdoor seasons almost over, at least around here.

In mid July, I bought a case of Byrons 30% Pro Driver Gen 2 for $27.99 per gallon at a hobby shop in Hemet. The owner usually gives discounts for buying fuel by the case but since the Olympics were coming up at the time and there being a "so called nitro shortage", he couldn't give me a discount.

I feel for you guys who are still being gouged on nitro fuel prices. With the economy as it is, you really need to look for a deal. I called around to several hobby shops within an 40 mile radius to see who had the best price. Luckily I found Dynamic Hobbies in Hemet which is about 15 miles away.

If your local LHS is still gouging you, I think it is time to take your business else where.

Yes this is in the Hemet, California area. I tried calling High Power Hobbies. They are in Lake Elsinore, California, right? I called a few times and I kept getting an answering machine but the greeting never stated it was a hobby shop so I assumed I had the wrong number. Dynamic gave me the best price so I drove the 15 miles to their store.

Where are you located RuggyDriver?

$27.99 per gallon for 30% Byrons Pro Driver Gen 2. That was the best price I had found in a bout an 80 mile radius. I even called several hobby shops in the Long Beach/Lakewood ,California area but hey prices were to expensive.

I use to buy Byrons Originals 30% Gen 1 fuel from Southland Hobbies in Lakewood, California for $22.00 per gallon. When I called to see how much he was charging, He said $39.99 per gallon and Ultimat hobbies quoted me $41.00 per gallon. Naturally I passed on those prices. They won't be getting my business anytime soon if they don't drop their prices back down.

Guys, it's not "gouging" it's that China, the only place in the world where it's being made, had shut down the plants making it leading up to the Olympics because of the environmental concerns via all chemical plants near Bejing.

AND, with the Chinese appearing to make a more concerted effort toward being an environmentally sensitive country --- don't hold your breaths relative to any drastic price cutting in the near future.
