I used the B1 with a CO27 (stock motor) in my 1/12 scale without issues. However, as stated above, it will only work with brushed motors. A 17.5 motor is brushless.

Any differences in rims or other stuff (e.g. offset, foam quality) that I should be aware of? I've been very happy with Jaco tires, but GRP tires seem more readily available where I shop these days.

Thanks.

Parma wheels and tires are manufactured by GRP, same wheels and rubber.
I've been using Parmas for years and like them a lot. The wheels run straighter than any other brand. Parma/GRP don't have as many compound choices as Jaco but I can always get the car to work with set up changes rather than the small difference, say, between a Lilac and a Purple. Parma rear wheels have less offset than Jacos, at about 2.5mm compared to a little over 3mm for the Jacos. Front track will be slightly narrower with Jaco fronts compared to Parmas by about 1.5mm

Hello and thank you for your help. Unfortunately there is no one running 12scale in our track and hoping I could spark things up a bit
Our track is indoor asphalt with med/high bite...our back straight is like 100-110feet long. Thanks in advance!!

Default GRP tires

Odpurple: thanks.

Another question. GRP tires seem to be specified in terms of shore rather than color. Which shore corresponds to which color? Does the following correspondence seem correct? 30 shore = gray, 32 shore = pink, 37 shore = magenta, 42 shore = purple?

Thanks.

Default Unity Tool Setup Jig

Does anyone know if the UNITY TOOL setup jig are still being manufactured, as well, if there are any online shops selling these units?

Thanks

Well, I have finally pieced my CRC CK3.2R together to the point where I can start contemplating electronics. Seeing as how I have never raced 1/12 scale before, I plan on running 4-cell stock. I have a Futaba R133F receiver and S9601 steering servo, however, I'm having trouble deciding on a motor and ESC. For the time being, a brushless system is a bit beyond my budget so I'm looking for a good brushed stock motor; the Orion Core Stock and Trinity CO27 Pro, in particular, have caught my eye. As far as ESCs go, I've been looking at the LRP QC3, Tekin FX Pro, and the Novak GTX. I'm just not quite sure what is best for my application. Would anybody care to offer some advice?

All 3 of those are good choices and you can't go wrong with them. I've used the LRP QC2 and the Tekin FX in 1/12th stock. If you plan to go to a Spektrum system in the future I'd stay away from the LRP. Their BECs tend to be a tad too weak for the Spectrum recievers and many people have had problems with that. Also with my QC2 the metal contacts on the PC board where the wires solder in eventually delaminated from the board. With the QC3 built the same way I imagine that would happen on that one too. The Novak I believe has the smallest foot print but also the largest capacitor so overall the GTX and FX end up taking up about the same amount of space. I really like my Tekin FX but you have to get used to adjusting push or anti-drag on the ESC and not on the radio. Many people will bump up the throttle trim to adjust this but the FX will not let you do that. Also if you plan to go to BL before going to mod brushed then save yourself a bit of cash and get the regular FX not the Pro...unless you are running hot mods you'll have no need of the Pro.

Stick with the Trinity CO27 stock motor, its the best and most common stock brushed motor out there, if I had to suggest a second motor to consider then maybe the new reedy stockstar, although I have not owned one yet. Your speed controller list is good, any of them would be great. Also consider the LRP QC2. Maybe pick one up used. A buddy of mine has a few for sale, he produces slapmaster products and his own car line. His username is slapmaster6000.

Default Jaco flanged bearings

Another question. The new Jaco tires are made for flanged bearings. What is the size of the flanged bearing? Are both bearings in the the rim identical?

Also, do you guys run double pink fronts and pink rears for modified on carpet as your main choice? Does this work when the carpet has a lot of traction as well?

Back in the day I ran purple fronts and gray rears, but times change it seems...

Thanks.

Purple/Grey is actually for stock racing, although Yellow and Lilac are often used as well. For modified Dbl Pink/Pink is great, but in high grip situations it will lock in the rear of the car and make it push.

Depending on your axle, you either use 1/8 x 5/16 flanged (Associated front end), or 3/16 x 5 /16 flanged (CRC front end). Yes, both bearings in the front rims are the same size.
